Mr Dog del Caribe Playa Centro — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

Extremely overpriced and poorly made American food. First, let’s start with the poor service at this establishment. For a place name the dog of the Caribbean and not even serve Caribbean-based foods this place is clearly confused. Each of the servers act as if they don’t want to serve their patrons and you have to ask several times for things before receiving them. secondly they state that they have AC and Wi-Fi but they don’t have neither or at least the AC is running really low. The mozzarella sticks does not have actual marinara sauce and instead they give you Mexican-based barbecue sauce. The kids boneless tenders are just cut up pieces of chicken deep fried. also their chocolate milk is just a mix. Spent over 800 mxn pesos as a family of six and still everyone was hungry after eating. We had to ask for the check over several times and were completely ignored. My only hope is to leave this review to help someone who is trying to make a decision on whether they want to eat here or not. De las peores comidas que hemos tenido en playa del Carmen. La mesera Karen con una actitud nefasta, el cajero o manager aún peor y el cocinero más lento del mundo. Desde el momento de ingresar al restaurante se dio el número de personas para ver si se podían juntar mesas, Karen no se movió y tuvimos que juntar mesas nosotros solos, en otros restaurantes siempre apoyamos a los servidores a mover mesas pero siempre hay iniciativa, Karen simplemente se hizo a un lado y espero a que nosotros hiciéramos su trabajo. A la hora de pedir alimentos, se retiró al menos 3 veces antes de que termináramos de pedir sin antes avisar. Se pidió una malteada y no se hizo hasta que se preguntó por ella 2 o 3 veces. Se tardo más de una hora en traer un club sándwich. Al pedir para llevar ya que hubo una diferencia de tiempo de 30 minutos entre cada platillo se nos hizo mala cara. En la mesa bromeamos de que se nos cobraría por pedir para llevar y al revisar el recibo si se cobro 5 pesos por contenedor. Claramente las propinas son en base al servicio que se recibe y se dejó un 10% por el pésimo servicio y solo por educación y respeto, algo que en esta instalación no conocen, y tuvieron el descaro de llamarnos tacaños y codos por no darles una mejor propina y al momento de explicar que el servicio no era merecedor de más se nos volteó la cara e ignoró. Si esa persona era el manager y tenía alguna queja sobre la propina que se le dejó a la mesera Karen hubiera ido a preguntar que falto al servicio. La opción de música de la mesera Karen era muy inapropiada para un restaurante familiar en el cual se veía claramente que habían menores, con muchas vulgaridades and maldiciones and cosas muy explícitas. I’ve eaten at Mr. Dog many times and the food is always good. The menu has a lot of options and the prices are great, especially considering that they’re right off 5th Ave. the burgers are tasty but my fave is the burrito de carne, basically a steak burrito that you can get with everything including tomatoes and mushrooms.
