Probably...
No-- Definitely the best place to get work done and or just enjoy great coffee and small bites.
Place is super clean, always being swept mopped and wiped down hourly ? It seems, and each time a table or area is turned they are on it!
It's attached to - The Fives Hotel Downtown @ 2/10 street, so very easy for grabbing a cab or walking right into the heart of 5th Ave.
Excellent place to meet people, as all the taxis 🚖 and locals know the place, or if they don't , they know the hotel its attached too. Never had trouble getting there ( the streets go both ways here, so easy in and out for all coming or going) ...
Restrooms are clean and convenient--provided by the hotel connected to Marley. This place literally looks like it's right out of Seattle or Portland,10 years ago! Cool vibes, great music, good pastries and coffee, drinks etc...and nobody's rushed me out yet. Great for 5 minutes or 5 hours, it always seems to flow without getting jammed up like a lot of other spots. I try to limit my time, but others stay all day and it doesn't appear to be an issue ....
Lastly, there are plenty of electrical outlets- especially on the rear wall (opposite the counter) in the many months of coming here 1-3X per week, I haven't had a bad interaction with anyone.
Everyone seems to respect each other, their time and space. Drinks are not DOUBLE OR TRIPLE $$$$ - like some others' serving the mobile workforce communities...so there's that too.
Bonus wish there was a 6 * for this.....It's not uncommon to meet or make friends with people from over 20-30 countries in this place! I know Playa has grown its foreigner base significantly, but the diversity is amazing, at least during these times.
Meeting people from Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa, and the usual suspects [Texas] Canada, is quite normal... etc...if you go, throw what you can in the tip jar and support this place. Theres not a lot of spots like this anymore...sadly, I cannot remember all the staff's names, but they hustle and keep people comfortable and coming back!
Thanks to all the great people...you guys are awesome! See ya later...
Read moreWhat’s not to like in this place? The coffee is delicious (on the higher price side but to be expected for good coffee) and the vibe is great
Interior Decorated with the Bob Marley theme, merch and playing his songs throughout the day; though after a while you hardly notice. If you step outside into the hotel lobby that the coffee shop is attached to, you get a gorgeous view of a semi-indoor mini jungle lake and plenty of places to lounge, sit and work, enjoy your coffee or whatever tickles your fancy. There’s even a little turtle in the water sometimes! Inside the actual cafe can get a little stuffy during peak summer, and the comfy seats or co-work plug in seats might be taken up on a busy day, but this isn’t a problem with all the hotel space Nice toilets too! Super private for when that coffee hits your bowels
Food and Drink The only downside is that there isn’t enough hearty food here. Just basic fruit bowls or a croissant and sweet bakery options. The coffee is great, but I usually have to step out to get fed if I’m working from here
Vibe Perfect for first dates Great for remote work; not too noisy or disruptive and plenty of plug points Good for a quick coffee catch up with friends Casual place to take a client or informal business meeting Fast service for take-away Nice place to sit and journal (see pic)
I’ve done all the above to be honest - always nice to...
Read moreI have a love hate relationship with this place. When it is empty it has a perfect vibe, but when there are more than 3 customers, the place goes into chaos. I don’t like the seating, the way the tables, chairs, and couches are set up, it’s all very awkward, every table and chair invades the space of another table or chair. This could be easily fixed.
The guys working here never reply to “hola” or “hello” or “gracias” or “thank you”. They are very miserable. Which is ironic for a place named after Bob Marley. Something is wrong here.
Also, no one ever knows if they are supposed to pay when you order or after you’re finished. People are standing in line ordering and waiting to pay, and then they never get charged and then it’s like an awkward honor’s system where people have to go cut people in line so they can pay and leave when they are finished. This place has amazing potential, but simple unnecessary things that make no sense that confuse everything could be fixed in the snap of a finger. Charge people when they order so they can leave when they are done instead of waiting in line again to pay. And switch the seating around, the couches and big tables are too big and unnecessary, it should be all small tables and chairs instead, I think everybody would enjoy this more. Sorry for the long review but this place is so close to great, I figured I’d share...
