We had a good lunch experience here with good service and decent food on May 23rd so we returned on May 24th for drinks. The service was bad, the margaritas were awful - bitter and did not taste like they had cointreau as we had specifically requested - and we ordered 'regular' size margaritas but were given grande and charged for grande. I told the waiter that the margaritas were not good and we wanted to leave. He said nothing and brought a check for 460 pesos. I gave him a 500 peso bill and he did not give me back any change. After a few minutes of waiting, I asked for the change and he told me he was keeping it as a charge for the service. I said that I wanted the change and had no intention of leaving a tip, and he said it was required. Another employee, assumedly a manager, asked the waiter what was going on and then instructed him to give us our change. Even as he brought it over, he showed me a small card he had put with the bill that suggested tip amounts but told me that it was required. I took the change and left, and will never return. They took our picture the first time we were there, on May 23rd, and if they ever post it, I will respectfully request they remove it as we cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant and in fact actively encourage you to avoid it. We paid the equivalent of $31 US dollars and in return they ignored us, gave us disgusting drinks, and...
Read moreAfter a long wait, placing in our order twice as the waiter forgot and two other tables that came after us getting their food we finally got our entree, some nachos with cheese and beans and to no surprise they were nothing to brag about and was nothing special from something you can make from home with regular ingredients found at any supermarket. The main dishes were severely disappointing and if I weren’t hungry I would’ve never finished my four tacos that were just chicken and beans in a tortilla, had to add the hot sauce to add any good flavor at all which still didn’t give me anything special from the tacos I make at home. The cherry on top of a mediocre experience was that when we’re approached with the payment and chose not to tip they said that at least 10% tip was obligatory, keep in mind the service and the food was mediocre at best and provided nothing that would deserve a tip yet we still had to give 10%. Not only that but the explanations we were given for the wait was that it was busy yet there were only 4-5 guests including us. Not worth the money and not worth your time, I recommend going to literally any another...
Read moreBe careful! 20% tip is automatically added by the restaurant. If you get the bill, make sure they explain how the sum is made up. Otherwise, you will pay 20% extra as a (self-given) tip.
The service at was okay. Nothing special though. A basket of plain nachos was given for free. Nevertheless, the basket was instantly taken away from the table after we had finished our meals, although we had still our drinks.
We ordered a recommended Margarita and a Michelada to drink as well as Seafood Tostadas and Fish Tostadas. The drinks were alright. The Tostadas very tasty!
The prices were a bit high, but considering we were in a bigger restaurant at the 5th street, we were prepared. Nonetheless, we were shocked, when we were given a bill of more than 800pesos.
After wondering about the prices, we were told that tip is included in that price and whether we wanted to tip. We obviously were happy to tip, so we paid the full amount. After paying we received the bill, that showed us that the restaurant had given itself a 20% tip.
We are happy to warn you...
