You want flavour while on holiday? Do you want a notorious chef cooking your food while having two other completely different cuisines in the city? Come to Yum Yum where you'll find Thai flavour in the middle of the Caribbean. The atmosphere is very inviting. Love the aesthetic of the restaurant. There's an exterior and interior seating area. The outside is pleasant for a cool late sunset, be warned because that mosquitos will come so put on some of the mosquito repellent. The ambiance seems very lovely and a bit loads but necessary over the top loud. Now for the food. It's difficult to find these flavour while going out in holiday and trying local food and I feel that Yum Yum does a great job standing out of that crowd of what is common nearby. Everything was so delicious. The Pad citrus and savour flavour is there. The curry was a little watered does but the flavour is there. My favourite was the starter platter with a little bit of everything from the starter list. I love variety so this was perfect. Presentation is a 10/10. Looks so beautiful and well put together I don't even want to eat it. The service really great the majority of the time. Welcoming and professional. Many vegetarian options.

Good food. + Has breakfast menu and a dinner menu. + Teriyaki Salmon dish was really good. Simple dish, but was cooked and done really well. + Pad thai was good, and pad see ew, and other pads were also good. + Pho is decent (and different) considering it is Mexico. No hoisin sauce. + The kitchen/chefs consistently deliver good food everytime I visited. CONS - Dinner service is hella SLOW. Like how long does it take to get me a small plate of sauce. TELL me where the siracha sauce and I can literally get it myself. I literally do not need the server(s). By the time they got my sauce, I would have finished all my food is how slow they were. - Prices are steep considering the amount of food you get, and that it is Mexico. I end up paying $20-40 CAD per visit... more expensive than what authentic asian restaurants charge in Canada. Edit: during my 3rd and 4th visit here, service was better and more attentive. We loved eating out at Yum Yum. The location is great, very centric in a street filled with good restaurants. The restaurant has really topical vibes decoration, it is very clean inside, and nice atmosphere. The staff is lovely and always looking after you, and really pay attention to detail. The food is Thai and Indian, classic recipes from both cuisines. They elevate this recipes to whole new level. You will have a taste of Thailand and Indian easily, and they add their own twist. Delicious food, fresh ingredients, a gastronomic experience. They have vegan options too. The drinks are great. Their Piña Colada is over the top. We had some Pad Thai, and it was the best. The portions are very well served too. And thanks to the amazing lady who served us.

Never again. The house appetiser is great, as well as the beef satay, but the other dishes we ordered were definitely not authentic, maybe that’s why it is a fusion restaurant.

We ordered green curry, garlic naan and butter chicken. However the waiter mistaken the butter chicken as Pad Thai even though we actually point at the menu to indicate we would like to have the butter chicken, when the dishes arrived, he insisted we ordered Pad Thai and a few moments later he said both sound similar that why he thought it was a Pad Thai while we did pointed at the menu when we ordered, and the butter chicken was the reason why we order the naan bread. Why on Earth would someone ordered a naan bread for Pad Thai!

Speaking of the other dishes, as an Asian that always have Thai food in Thailand and my hometown, the green curry is a bit weird to me, I won’t call it a green curry, it’s lack of the flavour of the ingredients that make a green curry. I did attend cooking class in Thailand to cook green curry, so it definitely can’t meet my expectations, and as the others mention, the rice portion is pathetic, so small that it looks like a leftover.

For the naan bread, it’s actually kind of a soft bread with garlic rather than naan, it’s too thick and soft to be a naan. I won’t call these kind of dishes as fusion, it’s rather like fooling the customers. Oh I forgot to talk about the Thai tea with milk, it’s bland and is way too far to call it a Thai milk tea, while it should have the vanilla scent and sweet, I can barely get any flavour.

After all we finished our whole meals and just wanted to leave, we asked for the bill when the waiter came to clean the table, he kept us waiting for quite some time and we ended up asked another one for the bill.

Totally not...

Staff are really friendly and they have good drinks but that’s about it. Tried this restaurant twice. For the first time we dined in and had spring rolls for starter and beef paenang curry for the second. Really enjoyed spring rolls but paenang curry was very plain, no taste to it. No kafir lime leaf, no lemongrass, just tons of coriander which by no way belongs to the paenang curry. Second time we got take away. 6 different dishes. Red curry, spring rolls, pad Thai, korma curry, tom yum and tom ka. How is it possible that not 1 of these dishes was nice. Everything is very tasteless, lucks any kind of flavor, no thai herbs except for coriander which they put into everything. All the meals are overly sweet and taste like parfume. Rice completely undercooked and unseasoned. The chefs should definitely try the food before they serve it to guests. I do appreciate they try hard with the nice service and cocktails and overall the set up of the restaurant but the food let’s it down. If you can’t make it from scratch so it tastes good then buy the paste! There is nothing easier than to make a Thai curry, it only takes to try the food before you serve it. If you don’t know what Thai food tastes like then you probably shouldn’t work at the...
