I would definitely not return to this place, the food looks good on the plate but in reality it’s dirty and not as delicious as they say and the place is unhygienic, truly disgusting! While I was waiting at the entrance for a table to be given, I was able to observe the whole operation in the kitchen and it was horrible! The cook served the rice and arranged it with her hand! The same hand with which she grabbed money, the handle of the refrigerator, the knobs of the stove and the dirty rag with which she cleaned all the surfaces, dried her hands on her apron and touched the food from the dishes again before serving it! The kitchen, the floor and even the fans and the whole place in general are super dirty. Once we managed to get in we realized that only one fan was on, there is no air conditioning, the place is super small, there are a lot of people, there is heat in the kitchen and apart from the weather in general, it was terribly hot! Imagine having to eat like this! Everyone sweats and still doesn't turn on the other fans. We ordered and the lady who was our waitress was super rude, threw the dishes with food and didn't even accommodate them, left them piled up on the edge of the table and left, she forgot to give us our water and when we remind her of it she got angry and took it to us reluctantly. After a while a younger girl arrived who wanted to be kinder because she realized that she was treating us very badly and she was the one we left the tip. I don't recommend this...
Read moreI never write reviews, but this time I haaaave to! I’ve been travelling around Mexico for over a month, from Mexico city, Oaxaca & Yucatan, and this is the best food that I have ever had! The soups are exceptional!!! The portions are huge, and the food tastes so homely. I could eat here every day of the week and it would feel like being back home with my gran’s cooking. The staff are super friendly and keen to make recommendations! Muuuust try the Pozole combo, and the Caldo de pollo (both are delicious soups), the starter soup the serve is also super yummy! And if you don’t manage to finish, best of all you can take it home, theyll pack it up for you! Alsooo price wise its so so so so cheap! We paid less than 200 pesos for a huge dinner for two people (and we eat alot), so be sure to tip if you can, the service is really worth it! I was recovering from food poisoning when i came here and i feel soooo much better after this food! 1000000% recommend...
Read moreWhen we arrived in Playacar we wanted to eat at some lowkey, local food. That’s exactly what this place is!
A cute family owned restaurant, very little with home cooked food. The staff (probably all family) doesn’t speak English, but they’ll try their hardest to help/understand you when you don’t speak Spanish very well.
Definitely a recommendation! We’ve been there 3 times in 1 week.
The chilaquiles are very good, cheap and big portions. Also pollo Milanese (like a chicken schnitzel) is good and for my daughter they cooked a vegetarian dish with tacos and calabaza y queso. That was amazing and not on the menu.
They don’t have airconditioning, only blowers so it’s quite warm inside. Oh and the ice cubes are purified water, so drinkable.
Little reminder: they don’t have creditcard payments so...
