Amalfi — Restaurant in Puebla

I guess we set our hopes too high on this Italian joint. We were seated in the back past the pizza oven, which was a mistake if we wanted fresh air. The service was good, and we really enjoyed the toasted garlic bread that was brought before the meal service. The fettuccine arrabiata had a good flavor, and the pasta was al dente as it should be. The star of the show should have been the pizza, but it took a night off. We ordered the pizza diavola, but we were disappointed. While the pizza oven held promise, the flat, tasteless crust that emerged was underwhelming. There was no leoparding on the crust as there should have been. The cheese and sauce was scant. And while diavola should be the "devil's" pizza, it was served with angelic gloves. The pepperoni and allegedly spicy salami were merely bologna in disguise. I realize they had brought red pepper flakes to the table, but we are not to prepare our own spicy pizza diavola, it should present itself on its own legs. Would we eat...

We ordered 2 pasta dishes (Alla Franco Moda, Prosciutto and 3 pizzas (Siciliana, 4 Staggioni, 4 Formaggi).

Pasta Alla Franco Moda was very bland, served cold and contained exactly 5 mini shrimps. Serving small was small (~80g raw pasta). Pizze were bigger, but the crust was very soft and not crunchy. Some ingredients obviously were not fresh but frozen (veggies e.g. zucchini, mushrooms). The food wasn't good overall.

Service was decent, but the waiter seemed not to know the menu: he confused the names of 2 pizze. Also gave us one broken wine glass.

Not sure why this restaurant is so highly rated. Not...

Una experiencia marcada por la violencia, el desorden y la total falta de profesionalismo.

Desde el inicio, fuimos testigos de una discusión a gritos entre el gerente y uno de los meseros, en la que se intercambiaban groserías. Una disputa por la colocación de mesas y el manejo del ingreso de clientes, lo cual generó un ambiente incómodo desde el primer momento.

Lo más alarmante, sin embargo, fue presenciar cómo un señor de la tercera edad, aparentemente alcoholizado, intentó entrar al lugar con una actitud alterada. La respuesta del personal fue desproporcionada: un joven mesero lo empujó violentamente hasta sacarlo a la calle, donde terminó cayendo sobre la acera. Nada justifica que una persona mayor sea tratada con semejante agresividad, menos aún por parte del personal de un establecimiento.

El clima de tensión no terminó ahí. El mismo señor regresó buscando confrontar al mesero, mientras la puerta permanecía abierta y sin control alguno, lo que aumentó aún más la sensación de inseguridad. Aunque el gerente se acercó a disculparse, fue precisamente él quien momentos antes protagonizaba la discusión, por lo que sus palabras carecieron de credibilidad.

En este contexto, la comida —de por sí poco memorable— se volvió irrelevante. ¿Cómo disfrutar de un platillo cuando el ambiente está teñido de violencia, gritos y miedo?

La hostilidad y falta de control plantean serias dudas sobre la ética del personal y la seguridad de los clientes. Es indispensable que este lugar valore nuevamente su concepto de hospitalidad si desea seguir operando. Háganme caso y...
