Animal Puebla — Restaurant in Puebla

We shared a wild night in this Animal jungle. There is a reason why this place has 4.9 stars with more than 5k reviews. It is very, very good, all-around. Starting with the service, it was impeccable. From our waiter to the support staff to the bar staff. Friendly, highly attentive, and informative about dining/the restaurant. We do not eat meat, so we had initial concerns about dining here. However , never fear, they had a robust Sushi menu as well as some great fish, seafood (and chicken ) alternatives on the menu. We shared a sushi roll and then the Pulpo entree. It was complimented by 4 great salsa choices with breadsticks. For dessert we enjoyed chocolate cake laced in toffee. All in all, the Pulpo was the best! The ambiance was amazing on this Friday night - cool decor and music videos playing on big screens through the evening. If there was one "downer" it was that this place, which is essentially all "indoors" says they permit smoking on the terrace. Inside, the terrace is on the street side of the restaurants centrally located bar area. There was always someone in that area sucking on a cancer stick through just about all of our time there. So if you have a strong aversion / allergy, ask to sit in the dining area at the farthest point from the street to best limit...

I’ve been wanting to come here for a few weeks now but it was always super busy. We were finally able to get a table today and the food was phenomenal. I wish I had taken pictures but we were too busy eating. The nigiris are all so good, try the toro with trufa or anguila with foie. For my main I got the burger which is probably the best I’ve had in Mexico. The bun was perfect and it had just the right balance of meat and cheese. We finished our meal with the stick toffee which was insanely sweet but so so good. Amazing moist chocolate cake covered in toffee and topped with vanilla ice cream. Simply delicious.
