VERY soulless chain café vibe (huge photo of... A stock image of a coffee cup. Next to a painting of a coffee cup... Come on guys, be more creative, we know we're in a café). Has a nice upstairs.
Coffee: Typical commodity grade ultra dark roast. If you're looking for the good stuff, Nomad is nearby. Don't come here expecting quality single origin pourovers, or a well dialed shot, this is more "how many pumps of caramel do you want in your burnt coffee"?
Omelet: Not bad, goat cheese is a nice touch, the vegetables were bright and fresh. I'd prefer it if they wouldn't mix the eggs with milk, I've never understood why places do this, but it was a good omelet. Beans and chips on the side, I could take it or leave it. I'd prefer fruit or something. Maybe potatoes.
Avocado toast with salmon: Avocado was generous, dressing was tasty, fresh vegetables were crisp, easy to eat. Good bread, well toasted. Fish was moderately good, could use a bit more of it.
Service: Cheerful and fast.
Decent prices, good enough café if you aren't looking for specialty coffee. Decent...

POOR LUNCH: Everywhere is Puebla they promote mole. I've had chicken mole several times and it was quite poor and sadly tasteless. The mole sauce is good, but it's how the meal is prepared that gives these restaurants a BIG D!
These restaurants plop some barely seasoned chicken either in-between a tortilla or bare naked on a plate and proceed to pour mole sauce over it. My mother actually marinated the chicken in mole sauce. It was much more savory that way. Hella more complex. TASTY!!!!!
If I wanted a bare hunk of boiled chicken covered in mole, I could go to an American restaurant. My mother spoiled me. Just say'n. JUST HAVE BREAKFAST, COFFEE AND PASTRIES HERE. But then, my mother (or your) may have never served you some great...
Read moreThe service and vibe here is very weird. I went in this morning because it was the only place open and the servers did know English. I ordered a coffee, pastry and parfait to go. The coffee came quick but the server wrapped up the pastry and didn’t give it to me. I waited 15 minutes before I got up and paid the bill — no sign of the parfait in sight.
I asked the server for my parfait and he tells me it’s still in the works, I’ve had my eye on the kitchen and could see they haven’t started the yogurt and it takes 2 minutes to make. 5 minutes later someone runs in with a box of strawberries. Very clearly they didn’t have the right ingredients but he should have told me that instead of making me wait for the strawberries. After he gave me my parfait i told him 3 different times he still never gave me my pastry before he finally...
