El Anafre Rojo — Restaurant in Puebla

For those who know the restaurant that was here before be prepared to be amazed by the change, for those who are just coming for the first time enjoy the new concept being given here. From the moment you come in you find yourself in a restaurant that screams Puebla from every corner. Very well designed, wonderful interiors, amazing food and great service made the experience one of the best I ever had in a restaurant in Mexico. Both times I went (lunch and dinner) The waiter and the maitre d' were always attentive and fast to ask if we needed anything to provide it. Since it was our first time going to this new restaurant they were very good at recommending things from the menu to eat and drink. Personally I never enjoyed the taste of Mezcal in any way served, but yesterday after the waiter recommendation I tried one with berries in it and the flavor was above and beyond any of my expectations. Plating is carefully and beautifully done for each one of the plates being served. What made this restaurant stand out among others food wise is the fact that most of their traditional plates are done 100 in an 'artesanal' way. Like the mole and butter. And service wise is the attention to details being given through all the visit. I highly recommend this visit and considering it's location is a good place to have a meal in downtown Puebla without having the busy life...

Disaster from start to finish. A group of us arrived - table wasn’t set up. When it was set up - not enough seats Orders taken and ten minutes later 3 friends told there meal not available and to reorder Another ten minutes passed before chips snd salsas arrived - which could have been offered much sooner Waters arrived for those not drinking alcohol - all sent back as things floating in it. Rose Wine arrived warm. My food eventually arrived - chicken breast in mole - stone cold in the center - they just wanted to warm it up and weren’t happy that I wanted to change my meal - husbands fish also uncooked in the center and returned. The staff also wanted to just heat up the meal - therefore I never was offered a drink snd husband never got a meal The cocktail I ordered never arrived ! THEN the absolute fiasco of the bills - practically everyone was handed an incorrect bill which included a tip - we waited at least another 20 minutes for the bill - I was handed the wrong bill numerous times Then when paying for bill handed incorrect change - woman in till seconds later couldnt find out correct bill and luckily our native Mexican friend could sort it out - nearly everyone else in our group had issues with the bill The whole ordeal took over 2 1/2 hours and I’ve never had such...

Llegamos mi familia a desayunar, 5 personas y al tomarnos la orden, la mesera NO nos indicó que nuestro desayuno incluía jugo de naranja y un plato de frutas, mi esposa ordenó 1 plato de frutas para compartir antes de su desayuno, la mesera amablemente nos repitió la orden, sin mencionar que nuestro desayuno ya incluía el plato de fruta, resulta que decido ordenar un jugo especial (rojo) y es ahí donde la mesera, me informa que mi desayuno ya incluye un jugo de naranja a lo que le contesté : ah que bien, no importa, aun así quiero mi jugo rojo y también mi jugo de naranja, hasta aquí todo bien, al pasar unos minutos la mesera llega con 4 platos de frutas y 4 jugos de naranja es ahí donde nos dice que nuestro desayuno ya los incluía a lo que mi esposa decide cancelar su plato de frutas y de manera ruda la mesera contestó que no se podía cancelar porque ya estaba a punto de salir, en ese momento sentía caer a plomo la LEY DE MURPHY, no lo podía creer, nuestro primer desayuno en Puebla, estaba preparado para que la policía me detuviera por placas de otro estado, pero no estaba preparado para empezar mal mi primer día en Puebla, cuando la mesera llevó los 4 platos de frutas mi hija estaba en el baño y el plato de ella se lo dio a mi hijo, cuando mi hija regresa a la mesa, le recordé a la mesera que faltaba el plato de frutas de mi hija y la mesera casi casi me regaña, diciéndome que mi hijo había tomado el plato de frutas de mi Hija, que el desayuno de mi hijo NO incluía plato de frutas, en ese momento ya me quería salir de ahí, llego un momento que en nuestra mesa había 5 platos de frutas "de cortesía" tamaño chico y 1 plato de frutas cobrado, todavía no terminábamos con la fruta y llegan los platos de desayuno, dejamos de comer fruta pues no queríamos tener en nuestra mesa exhibición de platos de Talavera, para que la ley de Murphy cerrará con broche de oro el plato de mi hijo menor, tardó en llegar y mis chilaquiles los pedí sin crema sin queso y los tuve que cancelar, pues traían queso y crema, ya no quería comer nada, ya me habían hechado a perder mi mañana, a lo que la mesera me contestó : no se puede cancelar! Ya en ese momento deje que LEY DE MURPHY se riera a carcajadas de mi. Un desayuno no debería de ser tan complicado, creo yo que tenemos en México talento natural hospitalario que debe de venir acompañado de capacitación, entrenamiento para poder enaltecer un desayuno o cualquier plato del día, para hacer toda una experiencia, no se trata de reglas, paso 1, paso 2, se trata que el personal de servicio empatize con el cliente, que se anticipe a las necesidades y gustos, del comensal al fin de cuentas todos los días...
