One word - EXCELLENT. We were here mid-day on a Wed (aniversario revolucion mexicana). We had Empanada Mixta, Sopes del Güero, y Burger de Jaiba. All were MAGNIFICENT. Food preceded by tortilla chips and 5 salsas! Service was attentive. Although we were the only lunch guests in this area of restaurant, the ambiance - music, decor and staff - was thoroughly enjoyed. While seating may be tough on Fri or Sat, it would be wonderful to dine again here then. Highly recommended! UPDATE: We have been to Güero Marinero probably 6x now, including the new location in Angelopolis. Recently we were downtown visiting Biblioteca Palafoxiana and stopped mid PM at Güero. We shared Caldo de Camarón, Taco de Pulpo y Taco de Jaiba. All were delicious. The slightest of nods to the Jaiba. All highly recommended. NOTE. While we enjoyed the Angelopolis visit there is something special about the downtown location. Maybe Angelopolis just needs a little time to develop its people, culinary chops and its own ambiance. But if you want to go and can go only once,...
Read moreAmazing experience at El Güero Marinero! I grew up eating Mexican mariscos and I must say - this is my favorite mariscos place around the world. I went there three times in the 4 days that I was in Puebla. The food was amazing. The service was phenomenal and the open kitchen concept allows you to engage with the cooks and watch them work their magic. My boyfriend is vegetarian and the head chef came out to greet us and made him a special meal on the fly, which was also amazing. Additionally, their cocktails are awesome and keep up with the flavors of their...
