We are happy that we found this place. We didn't know about it and searched on Google that it was close by so we decided to go there. We arrived less than one hour before the closing time but they welcome us in. The menu is not large selection but there are everything, beef, pork, fish, chicken, vegetarian. We had a drink of the day which I believe is guava and mint. My husband is vegetarian so we ordered 2 appetizers to share , a cheese dip and a tempura, and he ordered a portabello mushroom burger while I went for a beef stew. The restaurant gave us a complimentary dish which is just a bite of something delicious. At the end we had a blackberry panacotta which is really yummy.
The food here is Mexican fusion style that you wouldn't find any where else. I love the little detail in each dish and enjoy the decoration, the special veggies in each dish that is not commonly used in other restaurants.
I noticed a few comments saying that the food here is tasteless. I think for Mexican tongue that is used to chilli in every single dish and drinks you could see it that way because the food here is not chilli based like common Mexican foods. I think the chef is brave to combine different tastes and ingredients in one dish. For example, the beef stew I had is a little salty (but I didn't eat with the bread that comes with it, maybe that's why it is a little too salty) and there is plantain gnocchi which is sweet in the stew. It gives this dish a different taste that I didn't expect. I wouldn't say it is good or bad but something I have never tried before.
The food portion is not big and might be considered expensive by Mexican standard but it is something you wouldn't find on the street. The service is good and we like the decoration...
Read moreService was perfect. We got a detailed explanation of each dish and the waitress was happy to answer all our questions. I can't remember what it was that we were given on the house before our starters but it was delicious. It was a tempura for a vegetable I cannot remember the name now. As starters we got the tongue carpaccio and a quesabirria. Both excellent. I did not love my main. The braised beef was nice but it was a bit bland. I did not enjoy the hummus it came with. It was very lemony and in my opinion it did not marry the beef. The flavours were too contrasting. Also the dish needed some crunch. The other main we had was the octopus which was very nice but the portion was quite small. For dessert we tried the peanut and corn. I did not enjoy the flavours of the dessert. Presentation in all dishes was spot on. I think I was just unlucky in choosing my main. I...
Read moreWe just finished a delightful meal at Moyuelo, the place is very nicely laid out, the dishware is gorgeous and the vibe is trendy yet down to earth, it doesn't have the arrogance that is seen on similar establishments around Mexico City or Puebla, The service was just perfect, the staff made us feel right at home from the moment we came in until our server walked us to the door at the end of our meal, The food was outstanding, the menu is small and uncomplicated yet eclectic and fun, sticking to local ingredients and it's Poblano roots, Drinks are great and it has a dedicated bar below,
We really appreciate the fact that they were able to split all our dishes into two so we could try everything, we didn't ask for this but it really made the meal memorable
Thank...
