Restaurante La Llave — Restaurant in Querétaro

Have been coming here, weekly, since I moved to Querétaro several years ago. Food is consistently good, without exception in my experience. However, as of late, the service is a train wreck. I see a lot of staff running around, and there are a lot of waiters, but you literally have to set yourself on fire to get the attention of a waiter. Not sure what’s happening, but it seems as there is no practical logistics to the way staff are assigned to tables. I think maybe a change in the service manager? I’ll continue to go, but next time I’ll discuss it with the manager.

For those visiting Querétaro, check out El Palomar near Mercado La Cruz, a fantastic public market. The food is better and cheaper. Just stay away from the green salad. Everything else I’ve had is very tasty. The service is excellent , kind...

Disappointed. Sadly, the best part of our meal was the Limonada. The Sopa de Tortilla and the Sope de Elote con Rajas tasted almost identical, same bland flavour, and nothing to distinguish them from each other, or to savor. The unappetizng Molletes were nothing more than an room-temperature unfresh bolillo cut in half, and covered in cheese . The Chile Rellano de Arrachera was bland and tasteless, as was the Fajitas La Llave were equally dissappointing: dry, flavourless, and cold. We won’t be back, sorry, you lost us completely with this poor quality meal, La Llave. Pull yourself together before opening your doors to customers. Such dissappointng lack of concern will lead to more unhappy customers...

Las Llave

This is a restaurant attached to a hotel called Hotel Hidalgo.

As with all the buildings located in the historic center of Querétaro, this used to be someone’s house and now it has been turned into a hotel.

The seating area has a basically the patio of the house, you can see the second floor balconies that lead to the rooms.

As for the food it was very good. The chilaquiles with meat were mouthwatering., the steak was cooked well and had great seasoning.

The chicken soup as a starter called consume was especially filling, asked for a side of rice that I always add to chicken soup.
