I decided to come a couple days early to the city of Queretaro before flying back home to Madison Wisconsin. I saw this restaurant and it seemed okay. The hostess was waving people in. I decided a quick bite would be nice so I opted to sit at the bar. I really should have left after sitting there for five minutes and the bartender never fame to ask me for anything. I ordered a beer and the flank tacos. It took awhile to get the food, I would say 15 minutes for tacos. I had some chips and salsa to get me started. When the tacos finally came began to eat them. They were a little puffy on bite but it seemed to lack lots of flavor. I should have left the tacos then and there as I sometimes do it the food seems off...Boy I wish I had. I am currently on my second day of isolating in my hotel with food poisoning, diarrhea and a fever that will not let up. I may seek medical attention in the morning and cancel my flight. My sister who does large events warned me not to eat meat out at restaurants as the meat may have been left out too long before cooking or put back in the fridge after being out too long. I read the other low reviews and I would concur that the service is slow and the staff, especially the young bartenders seem to avoid working and chatted behind a post that divided the bar. I had no silverware until I asked for it twice and was almost done with my meal. Getting the check was another challenge the took asking for it twice as well. I would avoid this place. I wish others would do more reviews hen traveling abroad to help others avoid getting sick.

The melted cheese with cactus 🌵 was great! The staff was very very attentive at all times. You gotta try the homemade Flan, that was an exquisite desert we loved it 🩵 Definitely the highlight is the atmosphere, you are in the heart of a beautiful city, surrounded by beautiful trees and softened with the lovely live piano/violin music of the other nearby restaurants 🎶🎵🎶 that's amazing! Definitely one of the lowlights is that if you get a seat on the outside (best view from my experience) you will get easily approached by vendors offering: dolls 🪆🎎, crafts, flowers 🌺, candies 🍭, etc... you me it! Other than that it's a very comfortable and nice experience.

Marilu presented an excellent lunch experience for me. I was seated at a lovely outdoor table facing the fountain in the plaza de Armas. I ordered the delicious freshly baked croissant sandwich with arugula, a prosciutto and a lovely light dressing. The sandwich was accompanied by fresh salad with pickled red onions, tomatoes, and fresh leaf lettuce. I made room for flan which met all my expectations with a delicious caramel and perfect texture flan topped with fresh berries. What a perfect way to spend to spend an afternoon in Queretaro!!!!

Worst service I have experienced in Queretaro. We waited 1 hour for our food with no update from our waiter on what was taking so long. Finally, we asked another waiter what the problem was in the kitchen because half the tables were empty — they were not very busy. He was shocked and went to talk to the kitchen. 30 minutes later we finally received our food. We told our waiter the service was so bad we would like a discount. He said, no discounts. Then, when we gave him a 5% tip at payment. He argued with us that restaurant “policy” was 10% tip. We told him tips are optional based on service and his service was AWFUL. Our waiter did not even provide silverware and napkins for everyone. I will never go back and I probably should not have even tipped 5%. Someone needs to train staff on what...
