After experiencing a terrible night around the corner at Kuku Ruku, we stumbled on El Serafin and our prayers were answered. El Serafin is a charming, calm clean hotel with wonderful service and comfortable rooms. We were greeted by Alexis, the morning manager, who showed us a small yet inviting room that had a sitting area separate from the bedroom with king-sized bed, and importantly, it came equipped with air conditioning. ||El Serafin is located within Centro Historico, just a few blocks from Jardin Zenea and the many other beautiful squares within the center, close to great restaurants as well.||El Serafin pays attention to detail. The lobby has a sitting area with carefully curated jewelry and trinkets, along with artisanal tequila. The main hallway has a blackboard with thoughtful sayings to inspire your day. In the bathroom, the blow-dryer is contained in a lovely bag, the make-up mirror cord is encased in a decorative bag. ||Breakfast is also included and there detail shines as well. Each day a staff member asks at what time you would like your breakfast. At that time Alexis brings a tray elegantly adorned with fresh fruit, warm toast with jam and butter, yogurt, fresh juice, and coffee. The only improvement here could be that the coffee is stronger. ||One small gripe was the TV. It was a bit small and had been installed upside down so we could not tilt it downward. Aside from that the experience at El Serafin was delightfully tranquil. I highly...
Read moreMy friend and I stayed at the Serafin from August 15 through August 25th. ||||Note that there is no microwave or a fridge in the room. So be prepared to eat out every night and not bring home leftovers. ||||After traveling, most clothes are usually wrinkled. They did not have an iron ore know what a clothing steamer was.||||||The first night We got there I wanted to access their massage therapist. My friend spoke Spanish somewhat and conveyed to them I wanted a body massage. Specifically telling them I did not want a facial massage. They said yes. They understood and we booked a time. Be aware that the masseuse comes to your room. When he arrived, he had me lay on my back and started giving me a facial massage. I stopped him and said you know you’re here to give me a back massage correct? He goes yes After. He spoke a little English. After the facial massage, he hurriedly gave me a back massage very rough. So do I pay for the facial or not? It’s not what I ordered. ||||Every channel is in Spanish except for MTV. Watched a lot of old videos. ||||On a good note, they were very prompt with the continental breakfast. The location is a good location to...
Read moreWe originally booked for a two day stay, but our plans changed at the last minute and we ended up staying 10 days. We LOVED it here! El Serafin is located within walking distance to Corregidora Plaza with plenty of eateries and entertainment to keep you busy. Maria and her staff were fantastic! They were flexible in accomodating our changing needs and were available 24/7. They helped arrange transportation for us, gave advice on where and how to go within the vicinity, and specifically Maria (speaks Spanish) and Luis (speaks English) were lovely to chat with. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, COVID provention measures were fully in place, the building is kept very secure, and the atmosphere was very friendly, quaint and beautiful. It was truly a pleasure staying here....by the time we left, it felt like a second home. We will definitely be back :). Thank you Maria!! Love, Roberto and...
