Their kitchen closes at midnight so at 10:30pm there were not a lot of open options for dining. For starters we had the Escamoles which are ant larvae. I have never had bad escamoles but the way they prepared these was especially delicious. Buttery, nutty, rich and delicate with so many flavor profiles with the fresh herbs, guacamole, so good. Second app was the mollejas. These were also very well prepared but did have some spice. Main entrees included Salmon with fresh Garambullo sauce which is a cactus fruit. Dish was very nicely done and the sauce was a treat as not something always available and has a very special sweet and sour taste and unexpected texture. The Chile en Nogada was very nicely done. The cream sauce was right on, Granada was crunchy and filling did not disappoint. They did not clear out all the seeds so some bites had some spice to it but was very good. Service was good overall. The place was packed so excellent service would not be easy to get. Overall we highly recommend El...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious. What a great experience, the menu has so many good choices, you can't go wrong. This was my 1st time here, and I hope, in my next visit to Queretaro, enjoy another exquisite meal here. I ordered the pueblito soup... the basic chicken broth, rice and shredded chicken with all the garnishes. The taste was just as I imagined it. It took me back to my childhood with every taste. After the soup, I ordered enchiladas verdes. You have a choice of chicken or cheese enchiladas... I couldn't decide so my waiter was kind enough to slip my order and gave me 2 and 2... I got the best of both worlds!!! I wanted to order dessert but I didn't have any more room left. For my drink, I went with a Naranjanda with sparkling water. So refreshing and tasty. Prices are very reasonable, and the service is the best. Hope you enjoy your meal at this...
Read moreWe visited in the morning for breakfast. Huevos Divorciados is my favorite, and there was no question that is what I ordered. When my eggs arrived, it was obvious this was not Divorciados, but Rancheros. I called the waiter over and he took the plate away. He returned with the same eggs. The tortilla was cut in half and the red sauce wiped from one side and replaced with green. All the yolks were broken and a sloppy pool of Beans sat in the middle. I called the waiter again, and told him "it was not my fault", he shrugged and walked away. There are plenty of other restaurants in the plaza. Avoid this one. As other reviews have stated, they do not respect their guests. They made a mistake, I should have received an apology and a freshly made dish. Instead they gave me a hack job, and charged me the full price. Eat somewhere...
