El Suspiro — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

Service here was extremely poor, twice. First we went there for a late breakfast and the server rushed us to order (which was fine as breakfast was almost over) but then our food didn’t come for 25 minutes. Coffee was not delivered until food was delivered (about 25 minutes) and when it did come, he forgot the milk… (I asked and he acknowledged in Spanish so I knew there was no confusion), as he served it he said “y la leche” so assumed he would return with the leche… he did not come back after food was delivered, I wound up forcing myself to drink coffee without milk). The pancakes were great though when they arrived, I still tipped $5 usd.

We returned for lunch, thinking maybe it was just bad luck. It was not extremely busy, around 2:30 PM today. The hostess told us it would be “4 minutes” to clean a table, although we could see several clean tables. We said we’d sit at the bar and wait… we did, but it was more like 10 minutes at the bar, and in that time nobody asked if we wanted a drink or anything. Finally the hostess came and got us when our table was ready, and we sat at that table another for 10 minutes and no one came to our table, or even acknowledged we were there. We finally decided to leave. As we were packing up our stuff to leave someone came by to tell us that we could order food, but we were unhappy by that time, and we continued to leave. We walked across the resort to Bikini Azul, Giovanny is taking great care of us at Bikini Azul. When we’re done here, I’m going back to Detalles, Ernesto is the bartender at Detalle and he is very good and friendly....

The atmosphere and service are great, like in the hotel. Flawless. However, when it comes to food, this all-inclusive resort is really not good. All 11 “included” restaurants are very mediocre in terms of taste, freshness and flavor of the food. Unfortunately. For this one I can say, shrimp ceviche was too sour. Definitely should come to this place, the staff greets you with a smile ALL THE TIME! They are so nice here, this resort is very nice and still has lots in store.
