Nightmare!! We were guests at Dreams Playa Mujeres resort and had taken a boat ride (the children and a few teens got very sick) had to get captain to do an emergency arrival on the dock right in front of our hotel and while docking to rush kids off the boat 2 of their employees one a Male employee which refused to give name along with Isabel Zavala Avila (Delphinus employee) literally untied the boat and pushed my 9 year old daughter off the dock as they “claimed it was private property” and we needed to pay him cash to allow us to get kids to safety. The male employee of Delphinus pushed us away cashing my daughter to fall. We understood that it was their dock for their “locked up dolphins” but we begged as we had to get kids off the boat to bring them up to the rooms to hydrate. The point is as we begged to help, he continued to push my children off. We had to file a police report and will have the corporation investigate. Besides the company making lots of money $89 per person. They are very cruel to the dolphins as I got to take several pictures as they wanted me to delete the pictures. It is very clear that they are not trained nor have any kindness to help in case of an emergency. Regardless of who owned the pier / dock pushing a child off is something that no parent should watch. The management at Delphinus refused to give me the coward employee name. He hid the last few days of our stay here as I looked for him. Such a shame that all the company does is make money $$& and zero respect for the guests or humans. All of the footage was sent to the US Embassy along with the Mexican Embassy and news Media.

I enjoyed the experience, the staff members were pleasant, informative, and translated everything into English for us. The price was expensive to me. Around $300 for the full experience. There were cheaper packages but we chose the highest level one. You can't take your phone or cameras with you. You have to place all of your belongings into a locker before walking to the water. They will take photos for you and then charge you another $200 to $300 for a picture package at the end. They assisted us with getting a life vest on and informed us about the safety rules. The water was a bit choppy which made it hard to stay on the gridded area so we could stand in the water. It is the ocean and we fully understand the weather and water roughness isn't something that the facility can't control but if you are taking your children into the water, this is something to be mindful about. They will not refund you your money if it rains the day that you planned to be with the dolphins. You can reschedule for a different day but no refunds! The dolphins were gentle and the experience was pleasant. There was a lot of plastic floating around in the dolphin area which was disturbing to me but I understand that it comes in from the tourist and the ocean currents.

Honestly, this place is a total RIP-OFF. 1. While we agreed for a certain fee for the service and transportation. They charged us $30 after the dolphin show to go back to our hotel which is 8min away. Initially, they told us that the price includes the way to and from Delphinus Playa Mujeres. 2. Their price for pictures is outrageous. Packages cost between $200-300, and if you want to buy only 1 pic it would cost $45. This is ridiculous and unreasonable. I would have a personal photoshoot for $200-300. I travel a lot and it’s my first time ever seeing a single picture that costs $45! Moreover, you cannot take pictures on your own phone! 3. I think this place just makes money on tourists. I don’t like places that conduct this kind of business. Because it’s not business but a RIP-OFF. 4. Very rude workers. Workers need to be trained on how to interact with clients from all around the world. Overall, very sad experience. Please, avoid this place!

My family of four (two adults, kids age 8 and 5) booked this through our resort. My parents also joined us to watch their grandkids swim with the dolphins. They failed to mention to us upon booking that the grandparents would not be able to watch from the dock and they had to stay at the beach and just wait for us to finish, they didn't get to see it at all. The only reason I can think of is because they don't want them to be able to take pictures so that they can charge you $300 to sell the pictures to you. I'm sure they'll respond to my review and say that it is a safety issue, but then give the grandparents a life jacket on the dock. Everyone was super disappointed and I felt awful for dragging my parents on a bus just to sit at a beach and wait for us. This was my third time swimming with dolphins and this was the least enjoyable experience because they clearly don't care about you, just the money.

Everything we did do with the dolphins was fun but we couldn't fully enjoy it because we had to pose for a picture with each activity. I was so annoyed but I didn't want to ruin the fun for my kids so I didn't say anything. I just wish they would have let my kids enjoy the experience. My kids don't have instagram, they don't want the photos, they want to just enjoy the dolphins.

I realize they have no control over the waves, but it was absolutely miserable for my 5 year old that kept going underwater and my 8 year old that kept getting pulled into the grates along the dock. There's a platform to stand on, but it is about 5 feet under the surface so if you're shorter than 5'5 you're just floating and violently slamming into the dock. I have several cuts on my legs that were bleeding when I got out. I suggest going to a more controlled location where the dolphins are in a pen. I understand that the real ocean water is probably better for the dolphins but if you're paying an insane amount of money to swim with them, then you might as well go somewhere you can enjoy it. The snorkeling that came with the package was also simply not available because the water had 0 visibility and we were not compensated for that.

Overall this is incredibly overpriced for what it is. I'd skip this place and opt for an enclosure style especially if you have young children. I hope they will read this and use it to make the experience better for...

My review has nothing to do with the dolphins or the conditions they are kept in. These are all subjective opinions of people.

My review is about the professionalism of the staff. Back story… we’re here on a make a wish trip for our 10 year old niece who is terminal with cancer. She wheel chair bound with limited mobility. Knowing her experience would be limited, this was her only desire for the whole trip. Being in the water with them and touching them would have been enough. So you can well imagine our hopes for the day.

Upon arrival the staff showed us a misrepresentation video clip of the water conditions as they were a bit high and that if we didn’t feel comfortable we could reschedule. But if we went on the dock, we’re committed.

Almost EVERY member of our party got injured with the waves. We made the attempt to try the waters but the waves just smashed us back into the dock. My wife grabbed the mesh and her hands got shredded and a wave smashed her head into the underside of the platform. My sister in law has scratches and bruises up and down her legs. The kids were terrified and crying. This all happened while 6 staff members stood on the platform watching us all struggle to get out of the water offering no assistance.

Minimal first aid was offered. The first aid girl didn’t even know how to apply a bandaid. They were more concerned and pushy to get us off the beach away from other potential customers.

Total time on the platform and in water was between 5-7 min

They refused an on site refund saying we went on the dock knowing the water conditions. These people are supposed to be the professionals and not have left the decision of our safety up to us. None of us thought this could have happened beciase we trusted them. But these staff should have. They put our money ahead of our safety.

We told every customer in line with young kids that this even is not safe today and to come back on a calmer surf day.

Note to Delphinus: If your reply to this post is anything less than an apology like in May of the other 1 star reviews, then you’re just trying...

I am very disappointed! The experience was incredible and we enjoyed the dolphins so much except for my 7 years old daughter that got scared with the ocean waves and cried the whole time. The instructor was great and she made the experience with the dolphin a 5 stars. However, they don't let you bring your camera and at the end they wanted to charge us $580!!! They said it was because we were 8 people: my 4 kids, my inlaws, my husband and I. The chepeast option was $460!!! The staff kept saying because we were 8 but my daughter didn't do anything and she didn't get any pictures. The photographer asked how much I could afford and I told him $200, which was too much still but my mother in law was going to helped us pay for 1/2 the price. They said no, but when we were leaving the photographer came to me and said they were going to left us have all the pictures for $212. But this was a lie, he left and told us that his manager was going to help us. She then informed us that it was just for 12 pictures!!! I don't like that they lied to us.

The family of 4 that did the experience with us, bought a whole package and they paid $268 for all their pictures which were 37 pictures. I asked the manager if I could have the same amount of pictures for the same price for my family and she said she was already doing us a favor of 12 pictures for $212....unbelievable!!! Yesterday we did a 7 hours excursion to Xenotes for 5 people and we had a photographer for the entire day and took like 200+ pictures and he only charged us $125.

In summary, the dolphin experience in the ocean is great but the pictures is a ripoff!!! They don't let you bring your phone even if you have a waterproof case. So then, they can charge astronomical prices! This was my husband's 50th birthday celebration activity and we left with no memories of this amazing encounter with this beautiful dolphin. Very sad and disappointed that this company is so greedy that ruins...
