Los Abrazos is easily one of the hardest restaurants to book at Atelier Playa Mujeres. I had to keep checking constantly and was lucky to finally get a seat. With limited tables, divine food, and an intimate setting that creates a romantic atmosphere, it’s no wonder reservations are scarce.
The curated salad bar was a lovely start, with a generous selection of ham, cheese, bread, salad, and jams. Just be sure not to overload yourself and save room for the menu items that follow.
The standout dish of my entire stay was the Grilled Shrimp with Parsley and Dill Butter over Creamy Saffron Rice, accompanied by a fresh cilantro dip. I’m still salivating just thinking about it. Absolutely phenomenal!
The Cream of Smoked Mushroom Soup with truffle essence and crispy corn kernels was also excellent. It’s vegan, made with almond milk, and full of flavor.
On the other hand, the Portobello Ceviche confit in avocado dill didn’t impress and could easily be skipped. Dessert ended on a high note though. The Berries Crepe was sweet and delightful.

Read moreThis is an included in your booking for Atelier Playa Mujeres and it is likely the most popular restaurant on-site, so working with your assigned butler or booking through the resort's app early with truly recommended. They slots go quickly. I love the open salad bar--this really give that home vibe of being about to build or make your own salad from available options. They have a lot of really good stuff here. We enjoyed the Proveleta appetizer and the Spinach Empanada which was delicious. They don't give you much bread or cracker to eat the Proveleta with so you may have to ask more. I expected my ribeye to be more tender--it was rather tough in certain parts. My wife had the NY Strip and also purchased it well-done and it was must more tender than my cut of meat. The Magnificent chocolate cake dessert with delicious and a fine way to finish the meal. We did not have any alcohol this meal or any after...
