Service is negative! We heard a lot of positive feedback before reaching there so it was on our must-to-eat list, but it completely ruined our dinner that night.
First of all, the guy who served us did not ask us if we wanted the food or how many slices we’d like any single time before slicing food down to our plate . We even saw he took out a skewer of sausages to a table of family of three (one is a baby) and he pushed down 3-4 sausages onto that baby’s plate without asking anyone and then dumped all the rest of sausages to parents’ plates, leaving the table with an empty skewer. All happened in one blink. This dude doesn’t give you any second to react. The moment you realized, you already got excessive meat on your plate.
We were served in the order of sausage, chicken, steak 1, steak 2, and steak 3, and a plate of pork ribs (didn’t expect this plate at all, thought all food would come off from a skewer. But again the plate flied to our table surprisingly in one magic second and we had to accept it). At the moment he sliced the steak 3, he mumbled “this is the last steak” and then darted away. We didn’t have any chance to ask what it meant.
After 10 mins of waiting, we had to catch another waiter to ask our question “are we still getting more different kinds of meat and more rounds? The answer was “Yes, yes!”.
5 mins in, our dude finally showed up and walked to our desk and we asked him the same question. He said “you’ve tried all kinds of meat today. If you like any one of them, I can bring it to you”.
Okay, fine. It is so rare to see such a limited variety of meat being offered in a Gaucho Grill restaurant. Anyway, we like the steak, so we asked him to bring us those steaks. Wow, you guess what, the peak of the dinner hasn’t yet come.
After 2 mins, the dude brought us a plate of three big chunks of streaks, each is 5cm thick, 10cm wide, and fully cooked!!! Who the heck can eat so much??? Again, without giving us one second to react, big chucks of meat were there lying on the center of our table and as if it was yielding to us “I AM YOURS, EAT ME!!!” We spent the next 20 mins cutting and chewing the tough and dry steak for not wasting food. Of course, we could not finish them.
During our hard time of chewing the tough meat chuck, we flipped the sign to “No more meat, thanks”. Guess what, the dude still came to our take to attempt to give us steak. We finally got pissed and disappointedly left without any tipping.
We tried all restaurants in Dreams and Secrets. We are genuinely happy with most restaurants there, but the experience in Gaucho Grill is disappointingly negative. We would not recommend...
Read moreHad a great dinner here! For a table of two, we had to wait about 45 mins—they give you a pager and you can roam around the resort until they buzz you.
Service was EXCELLENT!!! Our server Mosqueda was super friendly, attentive and had a positive energy personality, loved it! The buffet portion had a decent variety of food items. The meats that came around were good—we had our green card flipped up so each staffer came around to our table and we got to try everything! Majority of the meats were well flavored. The mashed potatoes came out a bit late, since that’s usually a top favorite dish of mine I was a bit impatient—it was good too. The grilled cinnamon pineapple was delicious—that one didn’t come around too often so we did have to wait a bit.
Cocktails were great—didn’t take long to be served our drinks, either round. ...
Read moreWas very excited to try this restaurant as it’s the only steakhouse on the property. There was a long lineup to get a table as the restaurant doesn’t take reservations. Once seated, service was pretty bad. Waited over 15 min to get our drinks and easily another 15/20min more until the FIRST meat on a spindle showed up. By that time the salad bar pickings on my plate got cold. Meat was pretty good if it ever gets to the table. Then the waiting continues until we decided to just leave. This is the only restaurant where we didn’t finish our experience and just left. Huge disappointment and probably won’t be...
