Arrival: Arrived around noon. Checkin was a drawn out process, although early check-in is advertised, I believe that you need to request it ahead of time to do so. We immediately got some champagne as our Inspira welcome and were introduced to our butler. He did try his best to get us early check in, but due to a bit of a problem with our assigned room, it wasn’t possible. We were exhausted but this was out of our butler’s control, it was an air conditioning issue. He comped us a bottle of Moet and Chandon for the trouble of having to switch rooms. We ended up wandering around for a while before getting our new room, right in time for the normal check in time, which wasn’t bad at all since they held our luggage and we visited El Cielo bar, the view is gorgeous and the staff very friendly.

After getting our room, we took a dip in the swim out pool and explored the property before getting room service for dinner. Speaking of, I read other reviews that complained about the portions being small. I just want to say that the portions are regular size for anyone other than Americans. I am speaking as an American. Service: The butler service is a really nice touch. We established a group chat on WhatsApp and they touch base with us throughout the days; keeping us in the loop on daily activities and scheduling reservations for dinner, activities that require reservations, and services like the spa. Shout out to Alexis Sampayo in particular, he is the best! Really went above and beyond to make sure our anniversary trip extra special. He even planned a special anniversary surprise in our room while we were at dinner one of the evenings. Honestly all the staff were super attentive and responsive. Alberto at Inspira beach is on the top of his game, literally a drink ninja. We never ran out of drinks. Food: You would have to stay here a week and eat constantly at different restaurants to even experience it all. Mercado 19 is the least frills due to being a buffet style, but honestly my favorite and the best in my opinion due to the sheer variety. The dishes we’ve had so far at El Suspiro and Cilento were decent, but I wouldn’t say amazing. I’m a picky eater so take that with a big grain of margarita salt. Takeshi was really good flavor wise. I recommend the cashew chicken. Activities: so many! You can’t get bored here there’s always something going on. They have everything from water aerobics to Latin dance lessons to cocktail mixology classes to bike tours. We did the bike tour, Maria, our tour guide was excellent. Hotel: it’s huge. Big enough that lazy people even have the option of getting a golf cart to get around, but since we like walking we didn’t mind at all. Our original room was apparently much closer to the restaurants and the main building but due to the air conditioning situation we ended up in a farther away room, which we didn’t mind. About a 5 min walk for us once we got the lay of the land. Spa: The spa is luxury priced for North American standards. For a couples massage, north of $500. We did the included hydrotherapy, which we really enjoyed. The spa is beautifully designed and a really peaceful spot, if the beach wasn’t calling I could’ve relaxed in that pool at the end for the whole day! All in all, this is easily a five star resort. Atelier Playa Mujeres truly delivers on its promise of a luxurious and memorable getaway. From the attentive service and diverse dining options to the abundance of activities and stunning facilities, there is something for everyone to enjoy. While there were minor hiccups, such as the delayed check-in and the air conditioning issue, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was special, even compensating for inconveniences in thoughtful ways. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a relaxing escape, this resort is well worth a visit. We’ll definitely cherish the memories made here and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a...

When I take time to write a review, it is normally for a good or very poor hotel. In this case it is for excellence of the Atelier Hotel. Normally I reserve praise of the staff to just a few individuals but at this hotel it is very difficult to single out just a couple.

First, kudos to our awesome butlers, Jorge and Armando. They made themselves available to make our stay enjoyable and were always part of the solution, answering any requests. As it was our honeymoon, we really appreciated the many different surprises and the special attention. First and foremost, for my wife, the heart shaped chocolate specially delivered to our room, a bathtub with rose petals and a bottle of “Bubbly” to drink.

Also, in the different restaurants, we had treats underlining the purpose of your holiday. A highlight of our vacation was certainly a guided tour “Behind the scenes of Atelier” by Alex, the Entertainment Manager. He was so knowledgeable, took time to answer all our questions and is certainly one of the best Ambassadors for Atelier. This tour explained notably why all the food is so good, segregated areas for each food type to prevent any cross contamination. The cleanliness of the hotel with staff having their uniforms supplied and cleaned in the hotel. Alex stressed the values of Atelier that are encompassed by all the staff: love, family, humility, gratitude, passion.

Although we can’t remember the name of all the staff that we met, a few people leave unforgettable memories: Gilberto, the Restaurant Manager at Mercado 19 and the Italian restaurant called “Cilentes". He was certainly part of the solution to any of our desires and was creative by his meal suggestions and special arrangements. Angel, the manager of Maria Dolores the Michelin restaurant on site, Isaac, the Chef and two dedicated waiters, Iris and Christian. They all contributed to making our time at Maria Dolores so enjoyable.

Norma, the night Manager on Duty was quick to intervene when we had an issue and made our stay at Atelier more than special.

From the welcome by Alicia, to the service on the beach by Eduardo, Emmanuel and Carlos as well as so many others. A crash course on Tequila by an awesome bar man, Ivan. The amazing attention to our likes and dislikes at breakfast by Donovan, Carlos and team.

A very special night, “Fiesta Mexicana”, being attended to by the Manager Gabriela.

Our favorite restaurant, “Cilentes”, with the attention of David as such an attentive waiter.

A special lunch at the Bikini Azul with Ivette the Manager and Maurizio the attentive waiter.

With our maid Janeth, the room was always extra clean and smelled so good.

Bravo Atelier. We hope to return...

My husband and I just adored everything about our honeymoon stay at Atelier Playa Mujeres in October! To be honest, whenever people asked where we were staying in Cancun and we answered here, no one had heard of it and we started to get worried if we had made a wrong choice --- we couldn't have been more wrong!

We were in awe of Atelier from the moment we drove up and were greeted by hotel staff. Every aspect of this resort is well thought-out and you can tell how much they want to make your stay delightful, relaxing, hospitable.

We loved our room! It was comfortable and spacious. The shower and bath-tub were lovely. The complimentary snacks and drinks were a great touch. The view from the balcony was gorgeous!

The way that the halls were decorated with art and plants was just stunning.

Every staff member we came across was incredibly kind and thoughtful. We loved how congratulatory wait staff were at restaurants when we shared that we were celebrating our honeymoon! The sweet little touches they had for us throughout our stay to help us celebrate this time were so special.

We ate at most restaurants and were never disappointed. We also never felt like we got tired from eating the same thing because every meal had something new to offer! All of the drinks were great too. The Italian restaurant, steakhouse, and Alba were some of our favorites.

Although we did not select the Inspira package, we did not have too much trouble finding seating at the pools or at the beach. These areas were clean, relaxing, and just all-around pleasant and beautiful.

The spa was a must in our opinion! Although an extra cost, we thought it was worth it and was a very serene, replenishing, and beautiful experience. The spa staff were also incredibly sweet and helpful throughout the process.

A couple of tiny suggestions (These did not affect the quality of our experience at all, they just would have enhanced it slightly :)) I'm a bit of a coffee snob, but I thought the syrups were a little too sweet and masked the taste of the coffee. Maybe trying out different syrups/making some in house would improve the coffee experience? More hot tubs would be nice! Me and my husband loved getting in the hot-tub.

We truly hope to be back!!! We can't recommend this...

This was honestly the best vacation experience we’ve had. We are a newly wedded couple celebrating our honeymoon. From arrival to check out, we were blown away by the quality of service, extremely friendly staff, and amazing food (especially at Maria Dolores Michelin star restaurant) and architecture. The positive, ultra-friendly vibe of the staff is infectious and the history and philosophies of the founder and CEO have resonated across the entire staff. We liked it so much that we joined the Inspira membership program and we will be back many more times as our go-to vacation spot. We are newly wedded, but we have travelled a decent amount, and it’s safe to say this is the best establishment we’ve ever been to. Even through the smells, cleanliness, gestures, we could tell every detail was thought through for the best guest experiences. The views are breathtaking, the Inspira private pool and staff were great. Yatzy and Suyin were the best butlers. They always made sure we had our accommodations and satisfied our special requests when we needed it. For context, we got the Inspira swim out suite. If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation spot, and want to get treated like royalty, while also feeling like part of a family, this is the place for you. Special shoutouts to all the staff who were extremely kind, gracious, and took care of us: Miguel who welcomed us and gave a strong first impression, Eduardo from Mercado 19, Emmanuel at the Inspira rooftop pool, Alejandro (Alex) Padilla who helped us become members, Guillerema who took great care of my wife at the spa, Daniel at El Suspiro, Christian and Josue at Maria Dolores. Staff at the Inspira beach area who helped us get a bed and set up our towels. Of course again, shoutout to our awesome butlers Yatzy and Suyin. We are forgetting many names, but it goes to show how amazingly kind all the staff are! Seriously, the customer service, and what they have to offer is like no other. We can’t wait to come back!

This is a Forbes 4-star hotel—NOT 5 stars—despite their false advertising as a 5-star property online. In reality, they barely meet 4-star standards. At one time, this hotel might have had a decent reputation, but it’s clear those days are gone. Service is abysmal, with guests forced to ask for every single thing rather than receiving the proactive attention one would expect at even a basic resort. The staff’s attitude is shockingly unprofessional, particularly compared to other hotels we’ve experienced in Mexico. Unlike the warm and accommodating service typically associated with Mexican hospitality, the staff here seems more interested in telling you “no” than in solving problems. Worse yet, they address issues only after they’ve been pointed out, leaving guests to wait and wonder rather than being proactive or apologetic. An especially egregious example of dishonesty occurred during check-in. We had booked an ocean-view room (photos attached) and were supposedly eligible for an automatic upgrade. Instead, we were told that no upgrades were available. However, the “ocean view” room we were given turned out to overlook a golf course. After pointing this out, I was miraculously upgraded to a room that had previously been claimed as unavailable. This kind of bait-and-switch behavior is indicative of deeply flawed management. The food was okay (a solid B), with the fried chicken being the only thing worth remembering. In fact, the only highlights of our stay were the bed and, ironically, the experience of checking out. This property is a massive disappointment, and it is surprising that it continues to be marketed as a luxury destination. The combination of untruthful management, inconsistent statements (and service), and false advertising guarantees one thing: we will NEVER return and strongly advise others to avoid this hotel at all costs.
