Johnny Rockets — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

Ordered a combo and asked how much it is to change my fries for onion rings. I get told 20 pesos. I prepare my change to pay for the order.

The cashier then tells me the total price and it does not match. He keeps saying its 20 pesos for the onion ring but that I have to pay the price he is showing which is 5 pesos higher.

Then he tells me it is now 25 pesos for the rings. I concede because I'm hungry and this is the only option for the price.

I receive my order and see that this add-on to change fries for onion rings basically removes half the fries and gives me 3 small rings.

I told them I wanted to change my fries for rings, not only half. Then they tell me that's 75 pesos. They just keep increasing the price everytime I asked and I feel scammed. I did not pay the extra and after complaining they removed all my fries, and gave me the smallest ring in their fryer.

Its a shame because the burger is tasty but this whole experience felt like getting scammed on...

$$ EXPENSIVE $$ Hey! Here is a quick review of our experience at Johnny Rockets, which is located inside terminal 3 of the Cancun Airport. The service was great. We actually got a table and immediately a waiter showed up. He cleaned the table for us and efficiently took our order. He was very attentive despite a large number of tables he was servicing. Burgers, fries, onion rings and shakes were decent. Think old school diner food when eating here. The people behind the counter were also working hard. Unfortunately, they price gouge you like no one I have ever seen before which is why I am giving this spot ONE STAR. I ended up dropping $106+tip on four single burgers, one with onion rings/fries and three with fries and three milk shakes. I don't mind paying extra at places like airports or sports venues but this is beyond extra, especially when you hear other tourists saying how ridiculously expensive...

Do not go to Johnny rockets! I eat here 5 days ago and I am still suffering from horrible food poisoning. I felt it come on 12 hours after my meal. Slightly my fault as it was a bit cold and the meat tasted like it has been sitting on pablos car bonet for 2 weeks. I saw some of the chefs lick their fingers and then man handle someone’s burger straight after which is horrific. I hadn’t eat in 18 hours and even then I only eat 2-3 bites out of it, it was that bad. They definitely get the award for the worst burger I’ve ever had and it is a total scam paying 20ih dollars...
