Our first stop in Tulum. Went there on a Sunday evening, FAMISHED, and the food didn’t disappoint. Absolutely delicious tacos (octopus, fish, shrimp), amazing guac, filling burritos, and you must try their mezcal cocktails. It also had a cool dim lit outdoor ambiance, with lush greenery, pink neon sign in the bathroom entry, swings, wall art, boutiques, etc. It would have been perfect if it wasn’t for the very loud music (we were sat next to the speakers I suppose and some tracks were played on repeat) Cool latin pop music but not the best for a dining ambiance (some dude singing in autotune). There was a little rush and our waiter just disappeared on us at some point, forgetting some sides we had ordered, but a very friendly waitress came to the rescue and saved our table. Our initial waiter showed up later and acted rather annoyed when we asked if the rest of our orders would follow. The food and drinks all came within a mreasonable delay and we were very friendly and polite towards our main waiter but he definitely could not care to reciprocate, and even abandoned us by the end when we were clearly ready to pay the bill even when looking at him while leaving the table. We even walked out the dining area towards our car but he did not even notice us leave, so we could have left without paying (although we obviously did.) Everything else was stellar though, just please coach your waiter to be friendlier as it really spoiled what could have been a 5...
Read moreWe were the only guests in the entire restaurant, yet the moment we walked in, the man at the front his crown-capped tooth catching the light began aggressively demanding our IDs as if we were criminals rather than customers. From the start, he pressured us to order alcohol, making his irritation painfully clear when we declined and instead chose a modest amount of food.
We specifically asked for our beverages without ice. Instead, they arrived filled with it, and rather than bringing us fresh drinks, he scooped the ice out in front of us and returned the same glasses.
What followed was an excruciating wait: over an hour before our meals finally arrived. To make matters worse, the dishes were inconsistent even something as simple as the beans varied noticeably between two identical orders.
The ordeal didn’t end there. When the check came, that same man had the audacity to manually scrawl in a service fee of 450 pesos without a single word of warning beforehand. It felt deceptive and almost predatory.
And as if that wasn’t enough, later that evening, as we happened to pass by the restaurant again, he emerged to harass us once more, attempting to coax us to spend time with him, making an already sour experience...
Read moreIf you’re searching for a taco spot that delivers on flavor and variety, look no further! This place is a true gem for taco lovers, and their offerings go above and beyond the ordinary. I had the pleasure of trying their octopus, chicken, steak, and fish tacos, and each one was a masterpiece in its own right.
The octopus taco was a standout—perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with a smoky, charred flavor that paired beautifully with the tangy citrus sauce. The chicken taco was juicy and seasoned to perfection, while the steak taco was rich, flavorful, and cooked to the ideal level of tenderness. The fish taco was another highlight—crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside, and topped with a refreshing slaw that added just the right amount of crunch.
What truly set this place apart was the incredible selection of sauces. From spicy and tangy to creamy and mild, there was something for every palate. The staff was super helpful in recommending the best pairings for each taco, and they absolutely nailed it.
The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was fast and friendly. Whether you’re a taco traditionalist or someone looking to explore new flavors, this spot is an absolute must-visit. I’ll definitely be...
