There is no reason to go here when in Mahahual. If you crave something other than Mexican food (like we did after ten days) then go to Mangia Piano which was fantastic. Maramao was recommended by our Airbnb hosts and was a waste of (a lot of) money. Poor food, service, ambience, and drinks. What restaurant doesn’t have music playing? The other table there had music playing on their phone so we did as well. Should have left but we were so hungry after a long day. I could go on but you get the point - So many other options in town, especially one block back from the boardwalk. We came here from an excursion through our cruise. The staff at this restaurant goes above and beyond. They explained everything, found us chairs on the beach with some shade, brought us food and unlimited drinks, and were so friendly. They really went above and beyond to make sure we were always taken care of. Out of our 3 excursions, this was my favorite! We laid on the beach, went into the ocean, had massages. Vendors came by selling things, and they were all very polite without being pushy. The beach was not too crowded as well, as it's about a 10 minute drive from the port. Highly recommend...
