They are afraid you will loose key and there is no locksmith available to replace.|They took a 50% deposit when we made reservation, then took the balance about a month before we checked in. Everywhere else takes the balance when you arrive. ||There are a few inexpensive things that can be done to improve the ambiance. A larger mirror and shelf in bath, and decorative film on the window for color (like stained glass.)|A painting on the wall, or better yet, fabric paint in a bold print on the drapes. The large wooden closet made the room dark and smelled a bit musty. Either paint the wood, or remove doors and place a nice counter top on the base? My room was all beige, dark and dreary. Read moreWhat a fantastic little hotel! It's right by the beach but not on the busy boardwalk that gets crazy, plus the beach that is right behind it is really nice for swimming. I was on crutches during our trip and we had a bottom room with a private courtyard, there were only two steps to navigate into the hotel and everything was one level from there. Having a private courtyard was awesome and it was beautifully decorated. The rooms and whole facility were very clean. The biggest questions for any Mexican hotel room are, how is the shower and how is the bed. I am happy to report both are fantastic and the best we have had in Mexico! Shower water was hot and there was actual water pressure. The bed was one of the best I've had in any hotel, seriously. There were also plugs by the bed for the husband's CPAP machine. The WiFi was super fast too and never dropped signal. Having a mini fridge was great because we could have a cold beer on our private patio after a day in the sun. The hosts were very friendly and having them present added a level of safety, this would be a good spot for a solo female...
