The food was really not that great. The spaghetti tasted like spaghetti O's, which the kids loved. The drinks were made from syrup. The enchiladas looked and tasted like warmed up taquitos and the cheese was a slice of sandwich cheese. It really tasted and felt like a lunch room lunch that we paid more than it was worth for. Read moreHad a great experience at El Faisan! The food was awesome and the staff was GREAT. As a matter of fact, we missed the bus back from Coba to Tulum and had to walk 6km to a spot where we could potentially get a taxi. Our awesome waiter from El Faisan, Riccardo (I think!), spotted us walking and gave us a ride to the taxi pickup spot. Such a nice guy.
Anyway, El Faisan came recommended to us by our Coba Pyramid tour guide, who clearly knows a lot about Coba! Very glad we trusted him....

I expected them to be tourist traps but the copal they sold me wasn't even copal.. it was incense and they charged 10x what it should have cost even with me bartering them down to 50% of the original price.
