El Mariachi — Restaurant in San Miguel de Cozumel

Had an absolute blast dining here! Came to port with family on the Carnival Celebration cruise ship and sadly, due to the heat, my family decided they wanted to head back to the ship. I was not at all finished exploring and walked a bit further to get out of the normal touristy chaos. Walking alone, you'd think it'd be incredibly unsafe, but I made sure to stay on the main streets and not take up any of the offers from locals to "take me to the beach." I ended up stopping here because they offered 2/$5 beers. I needed a drink.. My server, I think Felipe, was so great! Made sure I never waited on beers and always had fresh limes! We walked down here from the cruise port. Looking for a place that wasn’t a total rip off and stumbled upon them. The resteraunt is a 3 minute walk from the royal Caribbean dock. It’s in a super cute plaza with a bunch of cool shops and a replica or the Aztec pyramids that was worth walking through. This place really doesn't need anyone to tell you to come in. The food is delicious and it's right on the market square so you get to watch dancers and performers while you eat and enjoy a refreshing margarita.
