Be very careful when you pay at this resteraunt. Do not use credit cards. The waiter took my credit card for payment, put my card on his pocket and walked away. Then when my friend noticed something was wrong I walked over and I had 2 people try to block me from getting my card. Then they told me just cash. No card. He should have never taken my card. They all freaked out when I told them to give me my card back and then paid them in Pesos. This bar is right across the street from the cruise ship docks. How many people have they taken money from. Just a warning....BE CAREFUL OF THIS PLACE.

So to follow up on my first review/warning.... after looking at my account at 3 AM. The waiter that asked for payment and asked if it was card or cash..... did indeed charge my card in the amount of $544.22 without my permission, signature or knowing. Be careful at this resteraunt. He and his manager stated the card reader was down. The waiter swiped my card to a reader in his pocket, not at the desk, but in his pocket. Also, be even more careful as he had 2 to 3 other employees running interference for him. They obviously do this often and are becoming more bold after reading the comments from other people who were completely robbed by this establishment while on vacation on this otherwise beautiful gracious island. Every other place we have visited has been nothing but professional and happy to have us return. AI Chile Resteraunt Bar stole from me. And it was a large amount of money as I said before, $544.22. Please be careful. There are many other great places to go to on this island that would...

First of all, pay with cash if possible just cause I had a little snafu with my bank after I paid for lunch here. Second: Do not get the medium margarita unless you have 2-4 other people to share it with cause it’s GIGANTIC. It’s so big, I can’t even imagine what the large looks like. Thirdly, their jalapeño is WAAAAAAAAAY hotter than the jalapeños we get here in the states so be wary. After all of that, I got the quesadillas (which are also different than the ones we get here in the states) and I tried all 3: chicken, steak and shrimp. They’re just little tortillas filled with TONS of meat and cheese. The steak and the shrimp were fantastic, I could take or leave the chicken though. One kid got steak and cheese nachos and those were great too. The best thing in my opinion though, is their guacamole. Very, very simple: super duper ripe avocados smashed and mixed with just a little salt and pepper and a little bit of lime juice. It had the smooth, almost creamy consistency of a soft serve ice cream. It was unlike anything I’ve ever had before because I love avocados but traditionally don’t like guacamole because of the onions. Great little place to try not far at all from where you get off from the cruise ships. Our waiter was fantastic, the guys outside the restaurant were funny and super nice, we got a free paper rose for my girlfriend, a few guys sang and played instruments and just overall a pretty good experience. I wish it was just a little bit cheaper though but I can blame the brunt of the almost $100 bill on my gf’s ginormous...

TL;DR:

-Horrible customer service from the waiter. -the male singer aggressively came to our table to ask us for tips -random people came up to our table and tried putting items on us without our consent. -Taco was tasteless and expensive for what it was. Cruise taco was way better.

My group of 3 wanted to look at the menu first before dining in. He immediately wanted us to sit down and ordered ASAP and didn't seem to want us to look at the menu and NOT get anything.

We ordered chicken and fish taco, both looks the same. When we asked him to confirm which one was fish and which one was chicken, he wasn't happy that we were asking him for clarifications and doing his job.

During eating, some random guy tried putting a balloon animal hat on us without our consent and behind our backs. I had to tell him no.

When paying the bill, he also mixed up our receipt and change (not sure if it was intentional so we would pay him more by accident). Overall he was not nice, not courteous, did not care, didn't say apologize or say thank you.

He was more mad that we made him do his job.

Overall, service and trust is bad, the quality of the taco was tasteless and worse than on the Royal...

My wife and I had previously passed this restaurant in previous years when on our cruises and decided to stop in, as we had a lot more time sit and eat this go-round. The food was great and reasonably priced. Our waiter was charismatic and fun to talk to and made sure everything was on-time and that we were happy. The thing that initially attracted us to the spot was the drinks and they did not disappoint at all. The margaritas were excellent with a good amount of alcohol in them. Worth every penny...actually you get much more than they are priced. While being a Mexican restaurant, the mood was very American in that there was a lot of Hip Hop and R&B playing loudly over DJ speakers. We didn't mind. As a former professional DJ I actually appreciated the mixes. One thing that was nice was that locals in full traditional costumes did some drumming and dancing inside the establishment, for tips. They were energetic and did a great job. The spot DOES include gratuity and it is clearly spelled out on the menu. I BELIEVE it is like 18%. All-in-all, it was worth us finally stopping in after these past years and we will go again when in the area.

I would have given a better rating but the waiter decided to take it upon himself to add a tip. The bill was $64 USD and he charged the credit card 1564 pesos, which is $76 USD. As a customer I want to decide how much to tip based on the experience. PLEASE watch you bill when paying here. The menu wasn't clear on the prices of the different sizes for the virgin Pina Colodia which we paid $24 for a medium. They started us with a bowl of chips, Pico salsa and three flavors of dip (habenero, chipotle and a creamy corn sauce). The fish tacos were good but overly salty. The beef tacos were better. The guacamole was shaped as a fish and was good and you are given the tomatoes, onions and cilantro to add. This place had more pages on the menu for drinks and they do food. Lots of cocktails to choose from.
