Staying in Cozumel for two nights in a local area about 700m from the ferry. My family and I were walking around our neighborhood and saw Taqueria Diaz. The smells coming from it were fantastic and so we decided to eat there. So glad we did as the food we had was delicious!

For tacos, we tried the ojo (eye), lengua (tongue), chorizo, pastor, cecina (salted beef) and suadero (chest beef), my new favorite. They were all very tasty, even the ojo ones which I didn't think I would try but glad I did. My husband and son are both pretty adventurous eaters so they had to try.

The salsas that come with are spicy!!! Not what you'll get where I'm from in the US but delicious on the tacos.

We asked for suadero quesadillas which wasn't on the menu but was no problem getting. My husband declared them the best Mexican food he's ever had, delicious! Service was quick and friendly. Prices are reasonable. We...

Would dare to say it was my favourite place to eat in Quintana Roo. Spacious with only locals and the odd expat dining there. Given the language discrepancies between English and Spanish my girlfriend and I got by just fine. The servers were attentive and tried to explain things as much as anyone could. We opted to go for the 3 taco deal and pick random items from the menu. Was the best decision.Good tip would be to just buy your own beer a couple stores down at the liquor shop. The restaurant will supply you with a plastic or glass cup. Would recommend ordering the soup, which is essentially just a chilly in a nice broth, and taking it home for a night snack. This will be my first stop the next time I...

Been making my way slowly to all the taco shops on the island. Trying to leave reviews so I remember one from the other.

This one was fun because they have all the things you wouldn’t find in a taco shop in the US. (Eyes, tongue, “mouth”, etc. they also have the usual tacos de pastor (which was delicious) beef, pork etc.

The tortillas were thick and home made tasting!! Not the ones from Chedraui! 😂

The horchata was so-so.

They had flan 🍮! Yum! And chocolate shakes.

Great open and spacious seating. Would work...

Excellent tacos! From the arrachero (tender marinated beef) to the pastor (pork in a spit) to the pollo (chicken), all of the tacos were simple and delicious. 3 small tacos for about $3 served with an old school style self serve array of limes, onions and cilantro, a medium salsa verde and a spicy chipotle sauce. In a quarantine everyone was wearing a mask (even the people cooking) and the tables were more than 6 feet apart (although we were the only ones eating in the restaurant - everyone else was doing takeout).
