La Ballenera Marisqueria — Restaurant in San Miguel de Cozumel

Its taken me a long time to write this review. As a simple THE FOOD IS GREAT just wont suffice. We have been in cozumel for two months. And we happened upon this absolute gem in our first few days here. Yes the food is amazing we have tried almost the entire menu.. almost. But the thing that stands out is absolutely without a doubt the STAFF. These dudes are on it. And friendly and as helpful as you could ever want. We really enjoyed coming here as often as we could. Sometimes it was so full and people were waiting we would just decide to try again another day. But not without one of the staff asking us if we wanted a drink while we waited lol. Ok so the food. My top pick is anything that says ballenera. You will not go wrong. Loved the fajita ballenera the most. The whole fish was amazing the camarones ballenera is out of this world as well. I'm not sure how I've never been here before, but there's a first time for everything! I was meeting a group of friends at a place nearby, but it turned out that it was closed on the day we tried to go. My mototaxi driver brought me here. I called the group and they all came over. This place is a bit far from the tourist center but man the food was great. We had an order of guacamole (we ordered this in every meal in Mexico, this wasn't the best but still okay), then we had a garlic octopus and a grilled calamare. Both were great.
