Casita Maria by Cheff Ja.Llano Finally! Amazing food. We had the Ensalada de beatable $150, T black de charcuterie $240, Camaron saltado $195, and Chuleta Ahmad de cerdo $255.
So beet salad, charcuterie and cheese platter, shrimp in a heavenly cream sauce with gnocchi, and a killer humongous smoked porkchop with a rough chopped fresh slaw!
Way too much food for two people but we wanted to try as much as we could hoping to be able give a good review. This place is outstanding! Everything was fresh, nothing was stale or off putting. I think some restaurants push the limits on fresh and maybe some people cannot taste through the flavors that something is not fresh but we can.
The porkchop was like eating filet mignon of bacon. The gnocchi with yummy shrimp was so tender and perfectly cooked. Heavenly.
We did not have room for dessert but had to try. We ordered potte creme Belgium chocolate baked in double boiler they make them selves. Topped with fresh strawberries, blue berries and roasted coffee beans sprinkled on the platter with a sprig of mint. You must crunch a coffee bean grind a bit of.mint leaf and then take a spoonful of the pot of chocolate and strawberries tossing a blueberry on your tongue. Slowly chew so the flavors can meld. WOWZA!!
One of the best restaurants we have eaten at in the past year! Every single bite made us moan the flavors knocked us out! Thank you Casita Maria!!!
A little difficult to find. Googlemaps will lead you right to Ricos and Mary's this place is tucked in...
Read moreBy far my most favorite food experience in all of Mazatlan. We ate here three nights this last week and enjoyed every dish. Parisian Mussels were delicate and in a very good sauce. The spinach artichoke dip is the best I've ever had. My wife had a pasta dish with shrimp and fresh diced tomatoes which was also very good. The smoked pork chop was my FAVORITE it's a double so the portion is generous... perfectly prepared, juicy and flavorful with a smoked seer drizzled in the best mushroom sauce south of the border with topping of greens to brighten every night. My wife had the ribeye which tasted like a grass fed cut and was topped with a chimichuri that melted right into the steak. Tonight we started with the mushroom casserole (which is huge for two, suitable for four as an appi) very, very good... but we both like the spinach artichoke dip better. I had gnocchi with shrimp (shrimp statada??) Which was swimming in a delicious cream sauce... perfect for dipping the breads in. The gnocchi was delightful and very fresh. My wife had the parpedella (sp?) and that too was a home run!!! I strongly recommend you save room for the chocolate pot... but if you didn't... ask...
Read moreWe read on Google maps reviews that this was the place to get mussels and walked 15 minutes to get there. It was worth the walk/wait. From start to finish everything, I mean everything was on point. They have English menus, service was impeccable and the atmosphere was lovely. I had to get a Mexican Fresca with our Sangria. The sangria was fresh, tasty and full of delicious fruits. For an appetizer we had the spinach artichoke cheese dip with toast. The best I've ever had in my life!! For my meal I went with the Greek chicken kabob. The chicken was moist and flavorful, the tazeki was creamy, with hint of cucumber. Everything on the plate was amazing. The reason why we chose this restaurant to dine in was my wife wanted to get fresh mussels. They we very fresh, hints of garlic and shallots and she said it was the best that she'd ever had. I tried 1 and I have to agree with her. Everything was absolutely delicious and we both highly recommend this restaurant when in Mazatlan, Mexico. Chef Jaime came out afterwards and greeted us and we let him know in person that he's perfected his menu and...
