El Oktopus Restaurant Bar — Restaurant in Sonora

I just want to share my experience since it was the worst treatment I ever received from a decent looking restaurant like this. (Once again, I learned my lesson that I should never ever judge a book by its cover.) I went to this restaurant on the last day of my stay in Puerto Peñasco, expecting to have a nice meal with all my friends I went with since it had such a high rating. However, all in all, I would give a zero star if I could. The very reason is simple and clear as followed: they did not value my and my friends’ time at all and kept us waiting for over one hour with a lie that they had so many tables to serve.

However, there were three tables on the second floor where my friends and I were and four down stairs. He even had balls to ask for 20 more minutes after he admitted that tables were too many to serve was a lie. Instead, he came up with a new excuse; their chef was a “mess”

We got fed up with the long waiting and so asked for bills for our drinks as we just wanted to leave the restaurant, but not to my surprise, he didn’t come back for another 15minutes.

We just placed money that should be enough for our drinks on the table and got out of the restaurant.

I am deeply disappointed in how deceitful they were with what was going on with our orders. It almost felt like they did not care about the value of our time and just kept us hanging there expecting for more orders for drinks, probably while their messed up chef was figuring out how to cook our orders lol

Prices are unnecessarily expensive and food they serve is westernized Mexican food rather than typical Mexican food.

The food was amazing it really hit the spot. The only downside is that we waited 1hr 20 min to get our food. We were a group of 15 And even in other restaurants we didn’t have to wait as much to receive our food. The girl seemed annoyed to as how they were going to sit us but we made it clear we really didn’t care if it was separated as long as we got served. Our family isn’t “ that family” we try to understand them. Its not easy being a waiter. I think they need to focus on the big tables instead of trying to fit as many small tables orders first. That’s what I saw. Small tables came in and they got their food first then us. Maybe will go back again we don’t know. Our server was great though he tried his best. Oh I got the “ El favorito sushi”...

We went for lunch today and had high hopes because we read some good reviews. It was one of the worst meals I’ve had at a restaurant. My daughter got sushi and just ate the small amount of fish on top. She couldn’t finish the roll. My other daughter doesn’t care for seafood so she ordered a burger and fries. The fries looked like they had been made the day before and the burger was so strange. It didn’t taste like beef and the cheese was disgusting. The rest of us got tacos and the fried fish and fried shrimp tasted like it had been made the day before. Nothing was hot either. It just wasn’t good.
