I am Mexican and I love my country. Me and My husband went to puerto peñasco Mexico for a week vacations and we were looking for a good Mexican food and we found I a good reviews of La negrita restaurante and we decided to tried a different Mexican restaurant. I order a chile relleno steak with beans. The chile relleno was oily, microwaved, the taste was very bad, like it was made days before, the steak was pale color I asked to the owner that I liked it brown not overcooked and it had no taste at all. That how it tasted when it’s been defrosted. The beans were just smash and reheated . I talked to the owner or manager and he just denied about the bad food .my husband eat half of his dish , vegetables reheated and overcooked no taste at all so I understand that was a low season . For all the business but selling the reheated food from yesterday that is not a good advertisement for his business. Because we were the only customers. When we got there until we left...
Read moreThis restaurant is a little hole in the wall type place. Nothing fancy as far as the restaurant itself but they save that for the food! Three of us each had the small skirt steak volcano which was out of this world!
The meal comes in steaming bowl and includes steak, cheese, onion, guacamole , jalapeno, asparagus, and some type of cactus leaf in an amazing sauce. It is served with your choice of tortillas and you then can eat it straight out of the bowl or make little burritos out of the ingredients. We did a mix of both and everyone thought it was really good. They also serve more normal food a week. My brother had a chimichanga and some tacos. The tacos were good, he said the chimichanga was decent.
If you like unique food experiences you definitely need to try this. As far as the service, or server spoke English and was very attentive as well. Overall this was a great experience and we will be...
Read moreWe stopped in for breakftast/lunch and the food is great! The ingredients they use are really fresh and the cooks take great attention to detail when pulling everything together. We ordered the guacomole, shrimp tacos, Volcano Trio, and Chulaquiles con Carne.
The guacamole was a little over seasoned for my taste and felt it took away from the freshness. But the marinated pico de Gallo that came with it was fantastic.
The shrimp tacos were served with a light sauce with the accoutrement on the side. The corn tortillas were a little more brittle than the flour but both tasted good.
The chilaquilles had great flavor, the tortillas had a nice crunch and the beef was very flavorful.
The Volcano Trio stole the show! The sauce that it's served in was fantastic! The steak is started on the grill and finished in the sauce - amazingly tender! Same with the shrimp and chicken!
All in all, highly...
