First expression always starts at front desk. Experience was awful. We made a reservation 2 months in advance 2 rooms. Check in was at 3pm we didn't get our room until 6pm. The front desk clerk kept saying 30mn, 30 MN went to 3 hours. But the funny part is when I said cancel my reservation I will look for another place to stay. That is when our room became ready. The first desk clerk was not friendly she had an attitude because I was upset that our room was not ready. We where on a flight since 5 am to get to veracruz first time there. When I asked for a manager she did not want to contact the manager. I asked for the name of the manager she did not want to provide she said. That by rules they are nit supposed to. And that was a lie. Because after I spoke to her in a firm voice, she asked oh you really want to talk to a manager. I told her of course. 3 hours for our room to be ready when the hotel new in advance we where coming plus we called 2 days before our reservation to make.sure our rooms.will be ready. Have 3 small children tired.3 hours is not ok. We wanted some kind if discount for at least the first night. We didn't want food. The rooms are ok both bathrooms smelled pretty bad like sewer. There was never hot water. Always cold water. One of the rooms fridge did not.work. Housekeeping was cleaning our.room and I told her she said that is was probably not plugged in and I showed her it was. She said she will get someone to check it. It was never fixed. The only good.thing about the.room was the view.of the ocean. The vallet parking was Good.we didn't have an issue there. They were friendly and help full with our luggage. The restaurant was good. Then I was called to the front desk and with a smirk from the employee at the counter she said she was cancelling our reservation. I asked why and she said that my wife and I and our 4 kids were over their 4 occupant maximum. I said we travel a lot and all can fit into 2 beds and we would be willing to pay any extra fee as a per person charge. There was no "I am sorry..." just "Sir it is our policy that only 4 people can stay in the room and your reservaton is now cancelled." I was hoping it was a english to spanish misunderstanding. I asked if there was a manager that I could talk with and she said she would call to verify. She talked quickly with the manager and then turned to me with a bigger smirk to say "no". I said I was willing to sleep in the car just so my wife and kids would have a place to sleep since EVERY OTHER hotel in Veracruz was booked for the night. "no we've already cancelled it!" was her response. She refused to call her manager back so I could ask him if this was indeed their policy.
