Pizzeria Da Maurizio — Restaurant in Veracruz

We arrived relatively early for dinner (before 7) we'd had a long day and wanted a quick early dinner & bed. It wasn't too busy. We noticed a big 'reserved' table & we're glad we got there before they did. After we ordered our food another large group of 12 people turned up on-spec. The poor single waitress was run ragged trying to push tables together to accommodate this group (ended up doing it twice). The wait for our food was long - food was delivered to the largely empty 'reserved' table, had time to go cold and be removed, before our order came out. A mix up with timings? My lasagne was half cold and quite small, very disappointing. It looked like someone forgot to put it under the grill, it had no accompaniments like a side salad or garlic bread (seems odd to me, a Brit used to both as standard). Luckily my husband's carbonara was hot and too much for him to eat, so I helped him out. My husband would have liked a pudding but not the wait it would take. We felt sorry for the waitress but have to judge it on the food which, for me, was sub par. The poor waitress didn't need the extra hassle of my complaint so...

We were here at around 6:30pm on march 30, 2024, easter eve! There was only one other couple there when we arrived but it slowly filled up as we were eating! The service & ambiance were excellent! The vegetarian pizza was good, not great (basically because the crust was only adequate) - but the cheese & sauce were good. My wife had fettuccine with red sauce & shrimp & that was good & tasty! It was a HUGE portion, at least for 2 or 3 people! And the pizza was for 2 people also. We also started with a lettuce salad & that was perfect. I think this is definitely a family restaurant. De verdad que es el peor lugar al que he ido en cuanto a servicio a cliente, pésimo, pésimo, de entrada cuando fui solo dos meseras atendiendo y debo admitir que si estaba algo lleno pero lo que vivimos no lo justifica, tome una mesa vacía porque (ojo nadie se acerca a recibirte) y completamente sucia, mi novia pasó una servilleta y se quedaba marcada, una corcholata y una servilleta usada sobre la mesa y una carta ahí aventada, esperamos aprox 15-20 min, nadie se acercó, y ya se empezaba a ir la gente, bueno nunca nadie llegó a atendernos me tuve que parar a buscar a la mesera para que fuera a mi mesa a tomarme la orden y a limpiar la mesa porque para esto llegaron otras dos mesas y le tomaron la orden primero a ellos, de verdad que fui amable aun con el coraje y el hambre que tenia (por eso no me fui) bueno, nos llevaron dos sangrías y de ahí otros 25 min en lo que llegaba la comida, cuando llegó la pizza sólo nos la dejaron sin ningún acompañante, mi novia se tuvo que parar a pedir vinagre balsámico, después de otros 20 minutos llegó la pasta, cuando es generalmente lo que te sirven primero, pero bueno... al final pedimos un refresco y literal 15 min y nada, pedimos la cuenta e incluía el refresco y tuve que pedirle a quien cobraba que lo quitara porque nunca había llegado, créanme que para el hambre que traía pasé un muy mal rato, la comida bien pero hasta ahí, he estado en otros lugares donde el servicio también tiene oportunidad pero nunca uno igual y siempre dejo propina, es la primera vez en mi vida que no lo hago. Nunca hubo interés en atendernos... ¿acaso mi dinero vale menos? No lo recomiendo para nada, no pierdan su valioso dinero...
