The place design is indeed beautiful and not overdone. Everything else can be improved, service first, the in between easter european vibe attitude at the border between humbled and arrogant. But that wasn't all too bad. Now the food was a some of a disappointment, unfortunately. I was looking forward to this place. The corn was probably the best - a simple dish, but a great hit. The brioche with pate, the brioche was slightly dry, just not fresh enough to be appreciated - the pate was mediocre and the amount of jam was just too much to balance this, overtakin the entire taste of the pate. Just poor balance with somehow doubtful quality of products too. The cauliflower was just not crunchy enough for the crunchy approach, nor cooked enough to open the grilled and cooked flavours of a cauliflower which are gorgeous if done right. The sauce was good, the cauliflower cooking was a miss and it's such a pity as it's so easy to cook to impress. Moving forward to my main, the dorada was very well cooked and tasty, but then the umami spongy side was just terrible, all you could feel is an intense sweet umami tasty without any ohter note, nor fitting the fish at all. Such a miss again. But, great interior and concept, winelist, even by glass was decent and witha bit of effort, food might get where it should be too, hopefully.

Today we was celebrating my boyfriends Birthday and I came to Moldavia for the first time (I‘m from germany). Very very good food delicious and fancy. Besides that the Service is taking good care of the customers. We had Victor as our Waiter and he worked very professional and very attentive. I had the Tartar as a Starter and I‘m very sensitive about raw Meat. First it looked abit different to the Tartar I’m used to (because it was mixed with some small cutted veggies and some white sauce) I can say it was very delicious I really enjoyed every bite. Besides the starters they being you fresh warm toasted/grilled bread what was fitting well with the starters. My main dish was beef I ordered medium - made just perfect pink, juicy and soft. Good sauce aside and very interesting seasoning on the veggies, delicious. Their Coffee was also very good. I usually live in Dubai and go to many fancy places, so I can say as someone who goes out alot- this restaurant is a must visit. Big compliments to the chef and service. We will be here again, it‘s definitely our favorite restaurant in Moldavia. ig: tina.dakaj and some pictures of the food:

I recently visited Lume, a neobistro restaurant in Chisinau, and had an overall good experience, deserving 4 out of 5 stars. The atmosphere and design of the restaurant are amazing, creating a pleasant and inviting ambiance. I started my meal with a soup and a salad, both of which were absolutely delightful. The flavors were well-balanced, and the presentation was excellent. However, the main course was a disappointment. Despite being someone who enjoys spicy food, the combination of spices in this dish resulted in an unpleasant taste, making it inedible for me. What really let the experience down was the customer service. The waiter did not even ask about the untouched main dish, missing an opportunity to address the issue or offer an alternative. Good food and a beautiful setting are essential, but attentive service is equally important. Overall, Lume has great potential with its wonderful food and atmosphere, but the customer service needs improvement.

Lume in Moldova is a dining experience that beautifully marries modern elegance with rich cultural touches, making it an absolute must-visit. From the moment you enter, the sleek, contemporary design is immediately captivating, yet there's a warm nod to Moldova’s heritage in the subtle details—whether it's in the artwork, the choice of materials, or the overall ambiance. It’s a space that feels both sophisticated and welcoming, perfect for any occasion.

The food at Lume is simply outstanding. Each dish is crafted with precision and flair, showcasing the best of local ingredients with a modern twist. The flavors are vibrant, the presentation is impeccable, and every bite tells a story of culinary artistry. Whether you’re indulging in a traditional Moldovan dish reimagined with a contemporary spin or exploring one of their innovative creations, the experience is sure to delight.

The cocktails at Lume are just as impressive as the food. Each one is a work of art, both in appearance and taste. The bartenders clearly take pride in their craft, creating drinks that are as visually stunning as they are flavorful. Pair that with an extensive wine menu that offers a well-curated selection from both local and international vineyards, and you’re in for a treat.

The staff at Lume deserve special mention as well. Their professionalism, knowledge, and genuine hospitality elevate the entire experience. Whether you’re here for a business meeting, a special celebration, or simply exploring Moldova’s culinary scene, Lume is undoubtedly the top...

Sorry, cannot rate this higher. The service is absolutely abominable - it took us almost 15 minutes after getting seated before the extremely bored waiter came over and asked what we wanted to drink. At three times, we had to walk out into the restaurant to catch his attention at all. The first time he actually spoke to is (as opposed to grunting) was when he had to answer a question about the dessert (which actually turned out to be the only good dish on the menu).

The beef I ordered was completely overcooked and not enjoyable at all. And no - the mute waiter didn’t even bother to asked how we wanted the meat. And didn’t give us space to ask. Same with the Umami Burgers. The meat was of the kind that you chew and chew… and it just grows bigger in your mouth until you HAVE to swallow it, if you don’t want to choke on it.

Me and my wife were inviting our nanași for his birthday, and I felt so ashamed for having brought them through this experience. Fortunately enough, they are understanding people.

The atmosphere is good though, it is a nice place, but the surroundings are promising things they cannot keep up with.

And yes - we are all Romanian speakers (three native, one having learnt the language) so it is not a matter of miscommunication.

Sorry guys - never again! And cannot recommend it to anyone who prefers human food...
