Read moreSorry, cannot rate this higher. The service is absolutely abominable - it took us almost 15 minutes after getting seated before the extremely bored waiter came over and asked what we wanted to drink. At three times, we had to walk out into the restaurant to catch his attention at all. The first time he actually spoke to is (as opposed to grunting) was when he had to answer a question about the dessert (which actually turned out to be the only good dish on the menu).
The beef I ordered was completely overcooked and not enjoyable at all. And no - the mute waiter didn’t even bother to asked how we wanted the meat. And didn’t give us space to ask. Same with the Umami Burgers. The meat was of the kind that you chew and chew… and it just grows bigger in your mouth until you HAVE to swallow it, if you don’t want to choke on it.
Me and my wife were inviting our nanași for his birthday, and I felt so ashamed for having brought them through this experience. Fortunately enough, they are understanding people.
The atmosphere is good though, it is a nice place, but the surroundings are promising things they cannot keep up with.
And yes - we are all Romanian speakers (three native, one having learnt the language) so it is not a matter of miscommunication.
Sorry guys - never again! And cannot recommend it to anyone who prefers human food...
Read moreThe place design is indeed beautiful and not overdone.
Everything else can be improved, service first, the in between easter european vibe attitude at the border between humbled and arrogant. But that wasn't all too bad.
Now the food was a some of a disappointment, unfortunately. I was looking forward to this place. The corn was probably the best - a simple dish, but a great hit.
The brioche with pate, the brioche was slightly dry, just not fresh enough to be appreciated - the pate was mediocre and the amount of jam was just too much to balance this, overtakin the entire taste of the pate. Just poor balance with somehow doubtful quality of products too.
The cauliflower was just not crunchy enough for the crunchy approach, nor cooked enough to open the grilled and cooked flavours of a cauliflower which are gorgeous if done right. The sauce was good, the cauliflower cooking was a miss and it's such a pity as it's so easy to cook to impress.
Moving forward to my main, the dorada was very well cooked and tasty, but then the umami spongy side was just terrible, all you could feel is an intense sweet umami tasty without any ohter note, nor fitting the fish at all. Such a miss again.
But, great interior and concept, winelist, even by glass was decent and witha bit of effort, food might get where it should be...
