Momoto Eastgardens — Restaurant in Sydney

Eta: Visited again. Toppings are small and extremely thin, and fall off the rice. Plates are expensive. Even our kids didn't want to have anymore. Think fine restaurant price for fast food bites. We have much better options in the area.

Original: In no air conditioning part of Westfield. Unfortunately, it gets the morning and afternoon sun. So it gets a bit hot and there are few flies hovering around annoyingly.

The sushi is fine. It is the sushi train sized mini bites. Because of the heat, there was a high variation in the quality of the sushi. I'm sure because it was a busy day, it hadn't sat around on the train for long, but some of the pieces were withered. If you know sushi, you'll know what I mean. In general it is a good grade.

Custom orders made on the iPad were also very slow, taking 15 minutes by which time we had already seen the same plate go on the train and got it.

It has a few more options than the usual sushi train, but not huge. You have to order the plate for soy sauce.

But otherwise, staff are very busy and slow. For example, it took us 10 minutes to get a seat even though the whole section of 10 tables was open and available. It was just waiting for someone to have time to stop and take us to the seat.

FANTASTIC I really wasn't ready I went in first as I was just curious to have a look. What a great genuine welcome from the staff all were very aware and attentive, no one was pushy or unhappy to be at work. Many places have staff who seem upset you expect them to do their job. Here it is pleasant and the staff anticipate your needs and the Manager KNOWS CUSTOMERS and how to treat people with Great respect. Im a tall guy and big he even suggested the booths have better room instead of the stools at the counter. The stools have plenty of room and he was offering to ensure I was comfortable and I asked if he was saying i might be a bit HEAVY and he understood that I was joking and still he was so professional and friendly. My daughter and I had a good selection to try and know a few things we are planning for the next visit. We even skipped the free ice cream and the price was very reasonable and PRICE IS CLEARLY DISPLAYED no hidden sneaky tricks.

You must Try this place and you will see its your next Favourite spot. To be honest I don't want to share I want it all to myself and my Family and Friends. Thanks to the Staff...

Before we walked in at 7:45, we checked they close at 9:00 on Thursday. There were barely anything left on the sushi train but we thought it’s ok we can just order.

But right after 8:00, the waitress came to tell us that the order we just placed can’t be made, because they will close early today. No one ever told me about it when we walked in! Otherwise we will just going to another restaurant!

Then we were served the only meals that we ordered before 8:00. I used to love mixed sushi donburi, but this time, super disappointed, the topping can barely even cover the rice, and most of them are eggs, and fish eggs, size of fish is super tiny…..

At the end, as “the kitchen has already closed”, of cause there was no free ice-cream to finish….

If you will close the kitchen in 15 mins, you need to tell the customer when they walked in. If you don’t have enough fish to make the meal, you need to tell the customer when they walked in !!!

They care nothing about the customer, all they want...
