Oh yes! Something that surprised me about the food in Mongolia was how well they cook Western cuisine. I prefer trying the local delicacies, but my townie wife ended up taking me to many of her favourite restaurants. They happened to include a lot of Western style cuisine.

That said, Chojin Temple Restaurant is a MUST! The food here was better than anything I had ever expected. This was also the first restaurant where the service was exceptional. Service isn't necessarily a standard in restaurants in Ulaanbaatar, but that's just the culture and my colonialist expectations of "service". It was nice to have that extra bit on top of the delicious food to make the experience 5 star though.

The Organic Immune Boost Tea was fresh and calming with a slight tart aftertaste because of the seabuckthorn. I had the Chojin Special Steak which came with a side of creamy bone marrow! What a side! The standard veggies and mash also came with it making the dish quite large. The steak was done as I asked, medium rare, which is impressive considering the thinness of the steak. A great dish with a nice presentation. My wife had the Marrow Risotto which had a tenderloin as a garnsih!! Also, the amount of parmesan cheese in it made it extra creamy and pungent in taste. There was so much going on, but it all worked extremely well together. The crÚme brûlée was tasty, but the cream wasn't as smooth as it could have been. That said, if it had of been the regular thick cream I'm used to, I don't think we would have been able to finish. The portions were incredible. I suggest getting dinner here after visiting Chojin...

During my visit to the Chojin Temple Restaurant, I experience good customer service; employees are helpful and kind. I find the Aglio, Olio E Peperoncino is quite flavorful, tasty—after stirring the ingredients together: the garlic, oil/sauce, and seasoning/spices (which may prove strong for one not looking for too much spiciness branching beyond the other flavors done settling on one's taste buds) settle beneath the noodles—which alone taste extremely different, improving much with the other ingredients post-mix; I order the meal without cheese, which makes the meal suitable for one looking for a Vegan option. I find the Patata Bravas crispy-dry enough on the outside, balancing well with a moisture within, twisting with a sweetness that forms with a lingering savoriness—all of which tastes well after a dip into a pumpkin tasting sauce (like an artistic drizzle on the plate), one of two sauces which I believe is Vegan friendly (where as the other sauce in a little cup may be non-Vegan). The bread before the meal tastes good (so good I ask for another bowl of bread), and the bread mixing with the accompanying somewhat fruity-sweet sauce is all the better. The interior decorating is beautiful, culturally sound with aspects of Mongolian culture; I like the artistry about the walls, the interior seems like an ode to a liveliness of nature; I like the real flowers on the table; I find the interior quite comfortable. The establishment accepts different...

Comments specific to Choijin Lounge and Restaurant- Golden Buddah - Zaisan Went for Dinner last night. 9pm booking. Arrived. No table available. Eventually given a table. Ordered a bottle of Sparkling Wine - arrived warm. Straight from the shelf. Ordered entree and mains. Entree arrived before wine. And main meals arrived before even started entrees. Had to send back to allow us to eat entrees. Told kitchen shutting at 9.30 even though restaurant open till midnight. Salt dispenser damaged. Had hole in bottom. Salt spilled all over entrees. Requested Salt shaker be replaced. Taken away but no replacement. Had to get our own from another table. Waitstaff inattentive and had to constantly chase up for drink refills. Attitude was what an inconvenience we were to them. After Mains requested dessert menu around 10.30. Told kitchen closed. Yet restaurant open another hour and a half. Had to request to speak to Manager. Begrudgingly agreed we could have dessert. A Creme Brule and an Icecream. Couldn't even get the 3 scoops of icecream right. Happy for us to have a bottle of red wine though....

So, after spending over 400,00 Tug. We had some nice food and suffered terrible service. Extremely...

The place interior is very vivid and full of temple monuments and mythical creatures. The service is really top notch with very friendly and kind waiters with good English. We ordered many plates to share between the 5 of us . The tomahawk steak was a little bit over cooked maybe because the cut was long and thin. The steak salad and Choijin special steak were really good and medium cooked as we ordered 😋😋. The bone marrow was very very tasty The bone marrow soup was nice presentation but the taste was not as we expected. We also ordered a mezza plate which i would give 3/5 the meat was chewy and fhe Chicken lacks the marination maybe cause i am from the Middle east and thats a common plate we eat so i was really harsh on the review of the plate. Ohh and The salad was really good but the portion was small so we had to order another one. I highly recommend this place.
