If you want a true taste of Mongolia, Modern Nomads 2 is a must! The moment you step inside you’re greeted with warm, traditional décor and friendly staff who are happy to guide you through the menu.
Every dish I tried was incredible—rich, flavorful, and authentically Mongolian. The buuz (steamed dumplings) were juicy and perfectly seasoned, the khorkhog lamb stew was tender with that unique smoky aroma, and the homemade dairy specialties were a revelation. Portions are generous, prices fair, and everything tastes freshly prepared.
I especially loved that they combine a modern, comfortable dining space with genuine local recipes—it feels both welcoming and culturally immersive. Whether you’re visiting Ulaanbaatar for the first time or you’re a local looking for top-quality traditional food, this is the spot. Highly...

The meal was cheap for us though, probably not many locals would eat here. Some table...

The cheesy chicken breast turned out quite good surprisingly. Tender and it went well with the cheese. Not too overwhelming. The fish soup was also good- served piping hot it was a good appetiser of sorts.
Each dish is around 7usd depending on what you order. My first meal in Mongolia so I can’t comment on the value but seems pretty reasonable...
