This is hands down the best restaurant I tried in Zabljak! We stayed in Zabljak for one day and ended up eating here twice.Honestly, I think everyone should try this place at least once!
On our first visit, we ordered the fried meat patties and grilled meat skewers—both were delicious. The skewers were mild in flavor, and I personally preferred the taste of the patties. Also, their chicken soup is a must-try! It’s so comforting, especially with those short noodles that add a great texture to the broth..After being out in the cold, a bowl of this warm soup was exactly what we needed. The next day, we came back for more chicken soup, along with the chicken thigh dish, which was equally tasty. We also tried a tomato-based soup with meat on the owner’s recommendation, and it was excellent as well!
Before coming, I’d read some reviews mentioning hidden charges, but we didn’t encounter anything like that at all. The owner was genuinely kind and transparent with us. After our meal on the second day, we were in a hurry to catch a bus. The owner noticed we were back for another meal and even surprised us with a small dessert! I have to say, everything the owner makes is fantastic, and that dessert was no exception!
What really made the experience unforgettable was the owner's kindness. Not only did she make sure our food came out quickly when we were in a rush, but as we were leaving, she even offered us a ride to the bus station. Her thoughtfulness truly made me fall in love with Zabljak and its people.
I wish her all the best and hope her restaurant...
Read moreMixed feelings about this place. We had dinner here, and then came back the next day to have breakfast and then lunch. Well, the food is superb! And we've tried many places in Montenegro. Here you can actually find something healthy. Not all positions in the menu are available, though, but it didn't bother us much - still plenty to choose from. The soups are just perfect! And I'm not sure if the prices are too high - we've seen higher in less representative places. The waiter was always really quick and generally polite. What I feel confused by is the bills we got each time. The first time we didn't even bother to check if the bill was correct - so, no comments here. The second time they double charged us for the soup and didn't charge us for the bread that they brought each time though we hadn't asked for it. The third time they charged us for the bread, and not with the price on the menu - a bit higher (not much higher but still confusing). My husband had a lot of bread there so he didn't mind the charge but I still didn't understand how it worked (each time) 🤷🏻 In general, the place is good - we have seen worse and much worse places with the same or even higher prices in the South of the country (maybe, that's the South that's why), and we'll definitely...
Read moreWe ended up going to the Durmitor restaurant for both lunch and dinner. We had pastramka with kajmak (trout with fat cream), and muchkalica (sauteed meat with vegetable sauce) for lunch, and then the lamb from under the bell (sach) with some salads. The food was amazing both times. Service was prompt and polite. The only hiccup was coffee with milk that we ordered after lunch and it arrived absolutely cold, while Turkish coffee it was brought with was hot. Not sure if that was how it's normally made, or it just got cold while the Turkish coffee was cooked. We had it anyway:)
But in the end it was a really pleasant, chill place to go to, they have a small outdoor terrace overlooking a small lawn, and a litter of adorable (but spoiled) puppies who play, run around and occasionally come by to...
