Adding to my review below: Tonight I had the grilled vegetable appetizer, and I don't know where their mushrooms come from, but they're so flavorful. Like none I've ever tasted. Then, I had the pork leg, fall off the bone tender, and worth some pausing to savor. Plus roasted potatoes, plus kamak (secret ingredient). What a delicious meal.
My review from earlier today: I ate here the previous two nights; tonight will make a third, and if I stayed in Sveti Stefan longer, I'd keep the streak going. I have enjoyed totally geat dining here, from the splendid patio view of the Adriatic, to the pleasant and ever-vigilant service of Mirko.
But it's the food that steals the show. Nothing short of "Wow, how good was that?!) So far, the tandem of women in the kitchen (Mirko's mom being one) has prepared for me a mixed-mushroom appetizer, spaghetti with fruits of the Adriatic in oil and garlic (night#1), and a bowl of fish-hearty fish soup, and another pasta (I don't know the type) with chicken, corn, and mushrooms, in a light brown sauce (night#2). All of it was sensational, the best food I've had since leaving the US in October, and dining out every night since. In half an hour I will head down for night #3. I can't wait. I think...
Read moreWe were recommended this restaurant by our hotel. They organised us a free pick up which was half an hour late to the agreed time. The restaurant isn't anything special although they went above and beyond to make us feel like it by dressing up our table in the best manner. I was definitely overdressed considering other people would sit in their beachwear. Food was average: bulabaise isn't bulabaise but just a tomato soup with seafood (in my case it wasn't well cleaned and I felt sand on my teeth), Greek salad is definitely missing the Greek soul as there's not enough olives and feta but truth to be said - all vegetables are very fresh and tasty, the best of all was grilled fish - there was no much choice and we had what's offered which is quite a big seabass, fatty, tasty, cooked really well. It was also cleaned by the waiter and served on the plates as in the best restaurants. So, as a result we were satisfied by the main dish, however it is priced 50EUR so should not be otherwise. I think the main reason to come here is definitely the view - a splendid angle to the island Saint.Stefan and the adjacency of the sea to the sitting area. You can find better seafood restaurant if not...
Read moreMeh food, fairly tasteless. Pizza decently sized, steaks as well, while calamari come at a 1/4 of what is described in the menu. Prices are okay, nothing over the top. Service is as bad as it gets, there’s only one server out of 5/6 that actually does their job (the only one that also speaks English). Tables are left unattended for 30+ minutes, with dirty plates and food remaining all over. Average time of waiting for a waiter to come to your table is around 15 minutes, then another 30 for food - that comes out cold.
When you ask to pay for your receipt waiter does not come back for 20+ and you have to go looking for him (as he hangs out by the bar).
The owner of the restaurant complains himself that they have the worst waiters in the world (and I agree with him to full extent), while saying that the only good thing they have going for them is the food - unfortunately food isn’t good either.
Avoid the place, walk 50-100 in other direction and you’ll find much better service and food for same if not less of a price.
Restaurants like this are what give the entire...
