La Couronne Bleue — Restaurant in Agadir

First the good stuff. As a Hotelier and Chef, I am always looking for excellent food when on holiday especially dishes I haven't tried before. The Zaalouk is the best we tried in Agadir, the Seafood Pastilla a triumph beautifully seasoned dish and the Chicken Kabsa was without doubt the best dish I've eaten this year. Chicken perfectly cooked, full of taste and the seasoning in the rice a masterpiece. Clearly the chef has a huge amount of skill. Now the reasons for the rating. We would have eaten here every night of our stay, but in the end only 4 out of 10 nights, the owner should take note. Apart from the first night, our bill was increased every meal from the menu prices initially by 100Dh or so. However for the last 2 meals we ended up paying an extra 300Dh, 30eu for a single course meal with either a bottle of cheap wine (5eu from the supermarket) or a couple of beers. My advice to the owner rewrite your menus with the correct prices and stick to them, you're not in a souk! To the chef go and find a job in a quality kitchen, I'd employ you at a stroke if I operated in Morocco. And to the public, the other reviews regarding pricing are true, think before...

I'm surprised at all the poor reviews on here to be honest. The service is brilliant, usually we don't return to the same restaurant on holiday as there are so many others to try but the staff were so friendly here and they sell decent wine and 'big beer'even during ramadan. We sat here for a couple of evenings just having a relaxed drink, one member of staff, tall with a beard, had particularly good English and was recommending places to go and visit nearby and even further afield. He even recommended a private driver when we asked his advice on travelling between our destinations which eased my worries about getting around safely. We ate here finally on our last night and food was tasty, large portions and good value. Yes, we've had better but was good for the price and the friendliness of the staff put us at ease. No trying to upsell or move us on at all. Lots of passing kittens, cats...

I would not recommend this place. The service was painfully slow from the moment we arrived. We waited far too long for food that turned out to be poorly cooked and tasteless. On top of that, the staff were unhelpful when we asked simple questions. The whole experience felt frustrating and disappointing. Definitely not worth the time or money. Extremly...
