Where do I start… had booked poolside rooms. At the time of booking, wasn’t made aware that the pool would be closed for construction nor did we get an email after booking. The website where we booked, now does have a message stating it is closed till mid June but who would ever go back to check the website once booked when there was no notice on the website at the time of booking. It is the job of the hotel to inform especially if the construction is going to be loud and noisy. During our whole stay, work would start at 8am. Even with the windows closed, this the very loud noise from the power tools would wake us up. Extremely disturbing!!! No chance of sleeping in. We went there to relax, but came back even more tired! The noise would continue all day so no chance of taking a nap during the day either. Work timing was from 8am-8pm. I complained to reception twice and both times we were told they will send somebody to come and check but nobody came. ||||Breakfast was ok. Standard pre made fried eggs, boiled eggs, beans, rice and egg flan and different types of cakes and pastries etc. unfortunately service was bad. The waiter seats you themselves. He tried to seat 2 of us adults and a toddler on a single table with 2 chairs. After telling him, we are 3 people he said we would fit on the small single table, told him we need a bigger table and he just rolled his eyes at us. ||Slow service in replenishing items. I was left waiting 10 mins while the staff went to get some glasses for the orange juice.||||One day we were waiting outside the hotel for our other family members to come downstirs so we could go out to eat. A Moroccon lady - well dressed started asking us for money. She was asking for 20 euros and after we refused, she started hurling abuse. The woman was verbally abusing us and making highly racist remarks. She also started filming us after we asked her to go away as she was scaring our toddler. There was 3 members of security at the door just a few feet away from us and not a single one of them tried to Intervene. I went to front desk to ask them to call the police and they refused and asked us to call ourselves. We were scared to go out so had to wait for her to leave so we could go. ||||There is no wheelchair access to the hotel which we found shocking! We had a pushchair and had to carry it up the stairs to get inside the hotel. ||||We had 4 rooms books and the rooms themselves were pretty decent to be fair. The sink was blocked in one of the bathrooms which maintenance came and sorted pretty much straight away. ||House keeping was done around 5pm which is not very ideal. She even threw our pyjamas in the bidet one day which was quite disgusting!||||Last day waiting in the lobby for our pickup to the airport, we moved one of the chairs so we could sit together and one very rude member of staff came and told us to put it back. We told him we will put it back after we are done, but he told us to get up and put it back now. Incredibly rude!!!||||Will never stay at this hotel again and wouldn’t recommend it to...
Read moreIf I could give this place 0 stars, I wouldn’t hesitate. My mom and I stayed 4 nights in this joke of a hotel and really regret it. The receptionist wanted to give us a room on the second floor, when we made it very clear we wanted a higher room on our reservation in January. We requested two twin beds, ended up with a double. Rooms are super small, not how they used to be when my mom came down in the 80s and 90s. The receptionist ended up giving us a higher room after she lied and said the hotel was fully booked with lots of attitude. The Wifi only works in the lobby and pool. I called the technician to see what’s wrong with the connection & hair-dryer, instead of trying to figure out a solution he started asking me personal questions; I told him I was 19 after he asked my age, he replied that I carry myself in a very mature way and seem older. He asked me for my number, he said “it was so he can send me his CV to help him come work in Canada”. It was very clear he was hitting on me, so I asked him to stop and try to figure something out. The next day I asked for an extension cord because they don’t even have plugs in the bathroom, the same technician came and asked me if I was going out, what time I’ll be back & said he they don’t hand out extension cords. Everyone smokes everywhere, in the lobby and in the restaurants. My mom and I both don’t smoke, yet there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in our bathroom. The pool is dirty, we found garbage in the water. One night I came back with a friend, we were sitting on the couch of the lobby, the security guard came and told me to leave even though I was staying there. He didn’t believe me, said my friend stays there, but I didn’t; I then had to give my room key and my ID. That was probably the worst part of my stay. I shouldn’t have to be treated like I was just some random girl loitering in hotel lobbies when I’m paying high rates for such mediocre service. Long lineups for breakfast, very chaotic. All the bars in the hotel blast music until 2 am, hard to get some sleep if you come in early. Overall it was a really really bad stay the only good thing about this hotel is it’s location. I will never come back, it was a terrible place to spend in one of my favourite cities in the motherland after being away for 4 years. If you’re looking to stay somewhere in Tanger, I recommend the Hilton. Had a nice time there 4 years ago, very...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE........... I recently stayed at this hotel and was extremely disappointed with the experience. When I arrived at the room, I was immediately struck by the state of disrepair of the furniture, including noticeable stains on the bed sheets. The room had a strong smell of bleach, which was made even more unbearable by the lack of functioning ventilation and air conditioning. I requested to change the room, but the front desk staff was rude and unhelpful they should learn how to deal with customers they was no tact I was forced to stay in the assigned room.
The breakfast provided was also unsatisfactory and did not meet my expectations. The pool looked dirty and was not working, further adding to the disappointment. The noise level was also high, with people shouting and cars honking outside because we were forced to keep the windows open due to lack of ventilation or air-conditioning , and the noise that we could hear from the hallways and the next rooms, making it difficult to sleep at night.
Despite the negative aspects of the hotel, there was few positive aspect. The guy who worked at the car park was wonderful and provided excellent service, He was friendly. as well the restaurant staf and last the view from the hotel on the coast was nice.
My overall experience in Morocco was magical and unique, thanks to the humble and hospitable Moroccans who made me want to revisit this wonderful country as well the diversity of the delicious food that I couldn't get enough of it. However, this hotel did not live up to my expectations and did not make me feel good during my last days in Morocco. I was willing to leave after the first night and asked for a refund, but I was unable to get my money back so I was forced to stay, I started to go for food outside and only came back to the hotel to sleep even we couldn't really sleep comfortably even I paid for the full package.
I would not recommend this hotel and it does not deserve to be considered a 4-star hotel. The poor service, state of the room, and breakfast left much to be desired. The noise level and strong smell of bleach made the stay uncomfortable and unpleasant. The only saving grace was the wonderful staff member who worked at...
