22/1/25 Wednesday late evening Taghazout Le Spot
We four experienced travelers were after a late meal. There of us had seen this place before in 2022 but never dined there. We took a chance this time with a friend as it was quite well reviewed.
We went up the stairs at 21:45 to find a quite busy big restaurant with a lot of tables facing the street. A mix of customers were dining but drawing a mostly young surfer crowd (including the odd board as there was space).
One neighbour was constantly on Duolingo with the sound effects at maximum volume so quite annoying. Thankfully she was of it when their food arrived and they left as ours arrived.
I remember that the menu used to be at the top of the stairs in December 2022 but it was not there this time.
We pushed together two tables overlooking the street with the help of the very friendly young waiters who gave us the comprehensive menus.
I had wanted to have a whole fish and this was pictured in the menu so I chose grilled fish (70). We had just walked through the open restaurants with fresh fish being barbecued, but no prices were evident or offered by the vendors or waiters.
My friends chose a chicken tagine (60), pesto pasta (45) and a salted ham and cheese pancake with chips and salad (45).
A small bowl of olives was presented as an appetiser.
In good time the dishes arrived, the steaming hot chicken tagine first at 22:04, then my good sized fish with a full plate of chips, salads, rice and lime wedges. We were all impressed at the value of the dish. It tasted very good too.
The pizza was delicious with a crusty base. My friend was impressed. Equally impressive were the tagine and crepes.
Unusually for us we thought we would have a coffee and some crepes. A Nutella crepe (25) was ordered along with a Nutella, banana and ice cream crepe. By 22:54 they arrived and were generous, hot and tasty at a very good price considering a local street vendor was the same price but could not match mine with an ice cream. They were delicious!
We were rather impressed by the whole meal including the attentive and efficient service. I was sorry to have dismissed it in our previous visit as (apart from the initial noisy neighbour). We left...
Read moreA really lovely restaurant, it is easy to miss as it is upstairs and not immediately obvious from the path but it is well worth seeking out. It over looks the main road and is great for people watching! The restaurant is modern with an open kitchen. The staff are friendly and the menu varied and very reasonably priced. The food is cooked to order so yes takes a little bit of time especially if they are busy but the quality is worth the wait. We visited Le Spot on a number of occasions during our stay in Tagazhout and we're not disappointed. We tried the omelettes, pizza, burgers, garlic bread and a few other dishes. Highly recommend...
Read moreGreat restaurant in Taghazout. I was in town for 4 days to surf staying at Mint Surf across the street and ate here 4 times.
Everything we ordered was good - we had pizza (big and good), the chicken and squid tagines, and the pasta and everything was great.
They seem to be open late, it’s always busy, and the service is fast and friendly. It’s also the most reasonably priced option in town (other than local local spots that weren't open as it was during Ramadan),
Highly...
