L'Kwan — Restaurant in Essaouira

We arrived around 16.00, and due to the fact that we skip lunch we were pretty hungry. The waitress welcome us saying that we can cook for us everything that was on the menu. Everything was super fresh and we were feeling like at home. Me and my boyfriend are Italian, and belive us when we say that we eat much better fish here than a lot of places in Italy. My wife and I recently visited L’Kwan in Essaouira for dinner. Our experience was mixed. We ordered Calamari Fritters and Moroccan Chicken Pastilla, but unfortunately, the quality of the food was disappointing. The calamari, in particular, was not up to standard, which was surprising for a restaurant of this caliber.

Such a beautiful space: stone arches, rustic chairs, the background of the rempart wall's warm stone glow. The staff are wonderful; chef excellent. And I happened to have dinner on a night with Gnaoua performance. Zounds! Started with the avocado seafood salad which was wonderful flavors. Then grilled sea bream perfectly crispy outside and tender inside. Green juice so fresh.
