I recently dined at LA RENCONTRE , and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for the evening. The food was absolutely phenomenal—each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.

Le Rencontre is the vibe in Essaouira. Excellent coffee, creative mocktails, spectacular views, and an eclectic music selection. Their menu is a much-needed break from the typical fare served elsewhere in the medina. I discovered it in the second week of my stay—and didn’t miss a single day for the next two weeks.

Also great for digital nomads: the team here works harder than bees, and their energy is infectious. Ayoub knows how to keep the vibe alive, despite wearing many hats. Conversations with him about Moroccan Arabic and local culture were truly enriching.

Don’t miss the chocolate coffee, the Bambara, Habibi, and the manta ray meatball tagine. I’m definitely coming back someday for another rencontre!

That was definitely the best tajine in Morocco and one of the favourite seafood we’ve ever had! The waiter was very attentive and precise - from walking us through the menu, through impeccable service, to his perfect communication in English. The food surpassed all the expectations - it was delightfully seasoned, greatly cooked, and tasted like heaven. We asked for more bread to clean every drop of the sauce from the dish.
