I recently had the pleasure of dining at MAREA restaurant with my family, it truly exceeded my expectations with its exceptional offerings. Among the highlights of the meal was the fish tajine, a dish that stood out for its delicate balance of flavors and a slight sauce kick that added just the right amount of zest without overpowering the fish. The harmony of spices and the tenderness of the fish combined to create a memorable experience for the palate.
Another standout dish was the salmon with lobster sauce. The salmon was cooked to perfection, flaky and moist, while the lobster sauce was rich and creamy, adding a luxurious depth of flavor that complemented the salmon beautifully. It was a pairing made in heaven, showcasing the chef's skill in combining ingredients to enhance their natural flavors.
The fish and chips were also a delight, offering a classic dish executed with a level of finesse that elevated it above the ordinary. The fish was encased in a light, crispy batter that gave way to succulent, perfectly cooked fish. The chips were golden and crunchy, making them the perfect accompaniment to the fish.
Desserts were not an afterthought at this restaurant; they were extremely tasty and provided a sweet ending to a fantastic meal. Each dessert we tried was crafted with attention to detail, balancing flavors and textures to create indulgent treats that satisfied our sweet cravings without being overly heavy.
Overall, the dining experience at MAREA restaurant was exceptional, from the appetizers to the desserts. The attention to detail in every dish, the quality of the ingredients, and the skill of the chef combined to make this meal a memorable one. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for high-quality seafood dishes in a...
Read moreGreat fresh seafood restaurant in Rabat. The decor and vibe of the restaurant is so lovely. Really good value for such a quality meal. My husband and I shared the Salad, like in Nice. The dressing was fresh and tasty - good amount of greens, potato, olives, tuna, anchovies and boiled egg. For main, we had the seafood with white sauce and mushroom and I think this is our favourite one. The sauce is so creamy but not too heavy. Good mix of mussels and prawns; Tagine with fish of the day – very fresh and perfectly cooked white fish on a bed of potato and carrots. I personally would like more mix veg and less potato but overall delicious.
Limonade is a good choice – proper lemonade and not too sweet. The complimentary Moroccan bread was definitely stale because most of them were dry and some bits were hard. It was the first time we came across hard bread in Morocco. Chocolate Fondant was lovely but overdone so I was slightly disappointed. I expected a warm gooey chocolate in the middle and not cooked through fondant cake. Delicious vanilla ice cream though!
The staff and their service were great. They're welcoming. We had a...
Read moreI had high expectations of this restaurant as I have read excellent reviews but now after trying it I tend to agree with the bad reviews. The food is tasteless, starting from the small entrees offered. We ordered a Marée basse and Fish tajine, they took so long to prepare the order and it turned out disappointing with a mistake in our order (extra waiting time). The fried fish was socked in oil with very small flatfish, shrimps and calamari, almost no meat especially the shrimps and calamari (it only tastes the crust and oil). The tajine was very bland. The fondant au chocolate was ok, I had better at this price. Staff was nice but when I told the manager about my dish, he made a weird face and said he never had this comment before (I checked afterwards some of the negatives comments and it said exactly the same thing). PS: we are Moroccans in Morocco not France and we appreciate being talked to in Darija. I don’t think I would come back which is a shame because I live just around the corner and would have loved to have a nice fish...
