Mixed feelings about this Palestinian restaurant. While excited to try it, the experience was underwhelming. I’ve eaten Palestinian food in London and it was much better.
The hummus lacked flavor and seasoning. I ordered the fatteh, which came as an unexpectedly large portion of rice. While rice is included in some regional variations of this dish, the presentation made it difficult to eat from the small plate, as it was piled very high, proportions felt off. The chicken topping didn’t taste particularly fresh.
The whole experience went downhill when I asked about what was in my dish (I know my Middle Eastern food). While the waiter was nice and explaining things, the owner butted in out of nowhere with a really bad attitude. I hadn’t even spoken to him, but he got all defensive and bossy, basically telling me “this is how it is” and demanding to know where else I’d eaten it. Talk about awkward! The waiter was great, but the owner’s attitude totally killed the vibe.
I really wanted to like this place, but between the so-so food and that interaction, I can’t really recommend it.
On the bright side - their lemon mint juice? Hands down the best...
Read moreThe meal I ordered seemed to be made in bulk, and the waiter recommended it to everyone, likely to get it sold. The meat was quite dry and not as flavorful as I’d hoped, and the chicken was overly fried, which wasn’t what I was after either.
The waiter handed me the menu but only mentioned what they didn’t have after I was ready to order, and it felt like he’d said the same thing too many times that day. They also kept changing the music, and for a few seconds at a time it would suddenly blast at full volume, which made the atmosphere a bit jarring.
The overall “Palestinian” vibe also felt somewhat inauthentic so if you’re visiting in solidarity, you might notice nuances that make you second-guess the experience.
That said, the ice cream at the end was excellent, and the falafel was genuinely delicious - I wish I’d ordered two portions.
All in all, it feels like more of a tourist trap than an authentic spot. I wouldn’t go back, but if you’re in a bind, you could...
Read moreSince I can not reply to the owner’s response , I am editing my comment : imagine she called me ignorant!!!! What do expect from an angry owner !! Now here is my initial comment about the place …,
went to this place because of good reviews but it turned out to be a mediocre place. The Palestinian lady ( waitress and possibly owner) marketed her menus and plates that are the best but turned out to be one of the worse middle eastern food I have ever experienced worldwide. She pushed so many dishes on us and the bill was over 300 DH with out drinks or desserts. The humas was over spiced with lemon Possiby trying to cover its freshness. The rest of the samplers were mediocre at best . To add to it .. we were the only people at the place in the middle of lunch time . This alone speaks volume. Horrible experience for me .. it was a disappointment to to have my friend experience this place first with middle Eastern food....
