Our group of 12 had dinner at Casa de Hoy in October 2023. The restaurant is only a few months old and I’m so glad we discovered it while we were in Marrakech. I highly recommend it if you’re in this city
Pictures are what I had: baked brie which I shared with 3 friends as an appetizer. The brie was warm and runny with what tasted like fruit and nuts. It was served on dark toast but we preferred it with freshly baked bread served in baskets on the table
For dinner I chose two appetizers - the vegetable soup, which was generous in size and flavor. Creamy and delicious. We guessed cauliflower and maybe celeriac. Salted very lightly
Second appetizer was grilled calamari which was super good. It was served with fresh lemon, a green that might have been watercress and a balsamic drizzle. The pieces of calamari were plump, not skinny strips, and perfectly cooked
The restaurant has a dining area and a bar behind. My only criticism is that cigarette smoke from the bar reached our table which was unpleasant. Oh, and one friend who ordered the risotto said it was undercooked and wet
There are two large tv screens which were playing soccer games with no sound, and there’s nice music playing that’s not too loud for conversation Overhead hanging from the ceiling is a green garden
