We came to this place after a pretty deep review indicating that this restaurant is vegan friendly. We made that pretty clear to the waiter that we would like to have a vegetarian tajine just only with vegetables - neither meat nor cheese, nor eggs, nor milk, nor butter. We received indeed a tajine with vegetables, but with a chicken-based broth/sauce that we could feel and smell right away.
This of course can happen anywhere, indeed it happened there, but we really appreciate the reaction of the owner and the waiter. We were not charged for the food and we were apologized. The owner had the idea of veganism and various food alergies and made that very clear that those factors are important for his customers. The mistakes can happen but this is important how you react upon them and the compensation from this restaurant service was at highest level.
The reason I am giving 4/5 instead of 5/5 (which is still a very good rate) is that nonetheless the mistakes like that can happen for vegan people or people with alergies that can lead to unpleasant consequences which and it can be a trouble. Hence a limited trust unfortunately is required in order to double check what you receive on the plate, especially by asking and receiving answers.
However, as mentioned above, we really appreciate the timely reaction and compensation that both owner and waiter offered us, so at the end I am satisfied with the visit and grateful to this personal touch offered. I recommend the...
Read moreBeing in one of the hotel nearby we wanted to give a chance to the well rated Full Sun restaurant. As we read that people had food poisoning there, to be on the safe side, we ordered a Pizza Margarita (hard to fail) an omelette berbere (simple and delicious dish) and fries (never disappointing).
The food arrived in less than 5min (good point but questioning). The pizza was clearly a frozen one and was tasting everything but fresh tomato basil and mozarella. The omelette berbere was half burned half scrambled, worst than tasteless. Fries were luckily great, we should have got more! We ended preferring to starve than finishing it all.
It's with a half empty stomach that I'm advising the potential costumers to try some of the other amazing restaurants that Ouarzazate and its region have. Places where traditional dishes are truly celebrated and...
Read moreWhilst staying at Le Berbere Palace, there wasn't much options nearby, we came across The Full Sun during a morning walk, it was a hidden gem! Amazing place, delicious clean and lean food, juices were fresh but to top it off, the mint tea ended the meal perfectly. We had to go back for another meal before leaving back to London. The owner and staff, the service, was better then all my visit to other destinations in Morocco. You get what you pay for, the pricing on the menu is really good and the selection of different items matches whatever you wish to eat during the entire day, weather its breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, or just to chill out at the cafe. If you ever go there, make sure to meet the owner, he also does tourist attractions/excursions and owns Desert Dreams, do go down there, ouarzazate is a beautiful place to see and do a...
