Expensive way to get food poisoning.
Went to try their "high tea set." After waiting almost an hour, what came out was nothing like a proper high tea set. For a place that charges more than many 5 star hotels, better tasting food can be found on the street.
The savory plate had a pink colored item that tasted something like rotten salmon. It was probably the cause of the stomach issues our group experienced later that evening. The sandwiches were basically supermarket mayo and egg smashed between cheap white bread. The croissant had not a single flaky, buttery layer to be found, rather it was the consistency of old bread. To add insult to injury, it was smothered in an unidentifiable sweet sauce.
The sweet plate was even worse. The scone was hard (probably baked a week previous), and things like a slice of a cheap swiss roll were added.
Overall there was nothing tasty and nothing original. The service was ok, but often had to wait as the staff were out of sight. The setting is the best part, with large windows overlooking greenery, a welcome...
Read moreWhile the ambience was lovely and the service impecable, it is above all a restaurant whose primary focus should be on the food, and unfortunately the line chef allowed a cooking "faux pas" to be sent out to the customers. Our entrees and their accompaning sides were simply stacked on top of each other, totally destroying the different flavors of each dish. What was worse, was that our leaning tower of food was topped off with a vinaigrette salad, thus further "enhancing" the flavors with vinegar, as the vinaigrette pierced through even the lowest layer. In the end top quality ingredients, were turned into a "blob" of flavors and the reason for doing such totally escapes me. Should they learn proper plating methods I would happily return. For the reader, I would suggest a dish for which talent is already shown(with the stacking of...
Read moreAiry restaurant with floor to ceiling windows looking out to a beautiful garden. We were a group of 16 and sat in the center of the room for a lunch. We selected our food in advance of the visit given our group size. The food was not only unique and delicious, but was also presented with great care and style. If you check out my photos you can see the tiramisu presentation which involved dry ice, a tea pot, and a last touch of espresso. It was quite something. The passion fruit tart was also divine. As was the baramundi with all of the sides. I also viewed their private rooms which look perfect for various sizes of private functions. We all really...
